Arizona has a tough row to hoe over the final week of conference play.
Sat., 2/22, Oregon Thur., 2/27, @usc Sat., 2/29, @ucla (suddenly resurgent)
Oregon has only two games left:
Sat., @arizona Thur., Oregon St.
Best scenario would be Oregon loss to Zona on Saturday, followed by a Zona loss either @sc or @ucla, preferably both.

Creighton has only one regular season game left. It's a big one.
Sun., 2/23, Butler @creighton.
It's a home game so Creighton has a good shot at winning. It would further boost their rankings/metrics.
Iowa finishes with two huge games:
Tues., 2/25, @mich. St. Sat., 2/29, Penn St.
So, the bottom line is this: If Oregon and Arizona can get tagged with one loss each, and if Creighton and Iowa can win out against three very good teams, SDSU's Creighton/Iowa wins will be significantly better than the Zags' Oregon/Zona wins.
Go Jays! Go Hawkeyes!

We really need Arizona to lose a couple games. They easily have the most inflated NET ranking @ #7. They're 3-5 in Q1 games and have lost 7 times.(Creighton and Iowa are both 8-6 in Q1) I don't get it.
The Bracket Matrix of the average seeding of 93 bracketologists has them as a #6 seed. So if that's the overwhelming opinion of so many "experts", how the hell can Gonzaga's win over them be better than ours over what is now a #3 seeded Creighton.(2nd on the #3 seed line)

I don't understand Arizona's love in the computerized rankings either. And I posited that it would be best if Oregon lost to Zona and then Zona lost to either @usc or @ucla. I wrote that only because Oregon is far ahead of Zona in the human polls, but Zona ranks very high in the digital polls, while Oregon is bouncing around No. 20 or so. Additionally, Oregon's only realistic chance of an L comes @arizona, while Arizona has a great chance of losing to @usc and especially @ucla. Thus, I think it would best if both Oregon and Zona would get nicked with one loss in the final week.

I think Arizona gets high rankings because they only lost to some great teams by a small margin...while I can see that as being somewhat positive for them, it seems that actually winning and losing should be higher on the calculations for both NET and KenPom.

Yet Gonzaga is #2 and Aztecs #5. Also, Michigan #8. Let face it, BYU must beat the Zags tonight for the Aztecs to get #1 seed overall, assuming we go undefeated through the MWC tournament.

Today is Gonzaga @ BYU day, and Oregon @ Arizona day, and Kansas @ Baylor day, and the Aztecs get to play! I don't see today as being one of my more highly productive days.

Kansas up on Baylor, 22-18 in the first half. Have we decided who we want to win this one?

Also, need to think about a #1 seed. I would rather be in Houston if we can't get LA.

Baylor has no answer for Azubuike. Wow, that guy is a beast! Sure hope we get Mensah back for the tournament.

On College Game Day from Baylor, Jay Bilas said that SDSU is a better team than Gonzaga.

Kansas up 10 with 10 minutes left. Kansas's center will be tough to defend but neither team has the outside shooters to beat you if you doubled him. Both of these teams play great defense.
Ball movement and perimeter shooting make them beatable. I think I know a team that can do that.

Nice Bilastration… "They're Legitimate"… And Baylor is on the verge of coming back at the 3:00 mark - they cut it to three; now down five.

We are better than Gonzaga. We are not better than Baylor and Kansas, but I still am staying positive to hang another National Championship banner next to the 1941 banner.

Kansas beats Baylor, 64-61. Let's see if we can pass Baylor now. Gonzaga will be #1 if they can knock off BYU tonight. I don't see how we are the #1 seed in the West if the Zags are #1 in the polls.

I wonder if anyone else sees this. Our makeup is very similar to U Conn the year they knocked us out in the Sweet 16. Great perimeter play and defense and foul shooting.
Same outcome this year.
