Why the hell are we coming home? School is out right now, just drive to Laramie at this point. Why make two long trips in 5 days? I'd imagine it has more to do with $$$ than anything else.

Why the hell are we coming home? School is out right now, just drive to Laramie at this point. Why make two long trips in 5 days? 3-4 days at altitude is actually worse on your body's adaptation to the thin air than returning home and going back to altitude the day before the game. It takes at least a couple weeks at altitude for your body to properly adjust to it.

When your home is San Diego, it is an easy choice.

Who's the #1 team in Utah...THE AZTECS!!!...I never doubted them..... I don’t know... Can we say that without having defeated Weber State? 2009 NIT at Cox Arena.

Mitchell player of game....no question to me. Pulliam had his best game of the year tho. Flynn was 10-10 at the FT Line. That made his offensive effort much better than his shots from the floor numbers.

Great game all around. Was definitely nervous heading into the game down 2 very important players and them getting Queta back. They are a good team, but not nearly what people thought they’d be this year, but still, a very very impressive win to add to the resumé. This team has guts and a different mentality than the teams we’ve seen in recent years.

No, gotta be Mitchell or Flynn Collective TEAM MVP in my book......everyone full filled their role.... That is one of the best things about this team! It can be any or all of them on any night. Just a fun team to watch. They all play for each other and get after it. PS: I am still mad I was out bid at the end for Mitchell’s jersey but I will get it next year. I am saving all year 😂

We haven’t lost a game. Until somebody actually beats us, I’m takin the Aztecs. USU is a good, not great team. They’re banged up just like we are. The pressure is on them not us. Anytime we've faced a strong team this season, we have curb stomped them. And another curb stomping it was.... We good, we really good

That made his offensive effort much better than his shots from the floor numbers. I love it. I've never understood why some players just can't hit FT's. I mean Karl Malone got into the HoF in the NBA by hitting FT's adding to his scoring average. In his prime he was making anywhere from 6.7 to 8.8 FT's a game. I heard either Gottlieb on the last broadcast or these announcers here say if you hit your FT's at the end of the game it's a bonus for shooters with all the fouls to stop the clock etc.

Wetzell deserves a ton of credit for playing Queta 1 on 1 all night. Holding his own defensively allowed us to guard their shooters at the arc and not let them get off. I think Dutch surprised USU by not doubling down in the post. That’s putting a ton of well-deserved faith in a guy playing out of position against one of the best bigs in the league.

Said the team’s strategy w altitude is to spend as little time there as possible. Fly in either late at night or in the morning and get out as quickly as possible. Said studies showed that adaptation to altitude starts to decrease after 12 to 24 hours and takes about 2 to 4 weeks for the body to optimize.

Important stat is Malachi is now up to 79% FT , believe he had been down to about 60% earlier - key when you are in tight games and have the ball in your hands
Some other FT% Matt 83% , Jordan 85% , Feagin 83% , Adam is 100 %
But Yanni 56% and Trey P 62%
Nolan also added some key rebounds

This team has guts and a different mentality than the teams we’ve seen in recent years. USU is a very good team when Queta is in the lineup. They have some quality wins. A loss at St Mary's when they were without Queta and with SM shooting lights out is not a bad loss. Even BYU, again without their big man, isn't a bad loss. UNLV is a bad loss when considering the margin of victory but winning conference games on the road is tough and UNLV looked really good that night. As for the game, gotta give kudos for Mitchell. He had a great game across the board. Another shout out to Pulliam for keeping the flow going while Flynn had to sit. Good team win in a place where it is very difficult to do so.

He looks like he knows how to shoot and should be north of 70% .

I knew it took at least 4 weeks to really benefit from altitude, but I've never heard you actually lose something after 24 hours.

However, the rest of his game has been tremendous, so it's hard to nitpick him on that.

His numbers at Vandy were not impressive at all but the first time I saw him play for us I couldn't believe how athletic he was, especially his footwork. He also has a very solid build to give us a big presence inside. Getting the ball down low is going to mean he is going to get fouled so I'd like to see his FT shooting improve. We are going to have games where that will be the difference.

Wetzel may have an injured hand. His right hand, including at least two fingers, was taped up during the Fresno game.

Did Vanderbilt's coach even keep his job after last season??
