Line started at SDSU +1.5 and rather quickly moved to SDSU +2.5.
Will be a big task without Arop and N. Mensah. USU is an extremely difficult road game to begin with but absent two forwards, it will be perhaps our most difficult game of the year.
Go Aztecs!!!

Very true. Our senior leadership will be important in order to keep our composure and stay within striking distance if USU gets a lead.We can probably expect USU to get a lot of fouls called in their favor and lots of free throw opportunities. Hope fully we have a very good defensive and shooting night, hold oour own on the boards and limit/cause turnovers. It wouldn't be a bd loss but would be a really good win !

Probably my favorite trait that I’ve seen from Malachi so far is his tendency to take it personal. I.e. He’s going to fight every single possession to let Merrill know he’s not the best player out there.
I expect/hope for a massive game from him.

To win this game we need to shoot the ball better than we have the last couple of games. Would like for this to be the game where KJ steps up as the senior leader he came here to be and has a good shooting night, especially behind the 3 point stripe. We will also need somebody unexpected to step up and give us a big night. Joel or Trey or Adam or hey how about Nolan gives us a few points and some clutch rebounds. Has anybody heard if Queta is playing?

We play our best when we move the ball a lot. It would be great if Schakel could get / take more open shots.

I read on the other board that Merrill has been playing on a bad ankle. Advantage, Flynn.

Merrill is banged-up (ankle issues), so hopefully he doesn't go off on us on Saturday.....People on the Utah St. site say he hasn't looked like himself lately.

Huge game for the Aztecs and the conference. The higher SDSU gets ranked the better for us and our conference. It’s a must win game if we want to get ranked in the Top 10 and if we want to pull in a 3 or higher seed.

This is a bigger game for USU than the Aztecs. If you understand how rankings and seedings work, the Aztecs do not need this game for an end of season top 10 ranking or a 3 or better seed in the Tourney.
I will be interested to see how the ball impacts the teams. I think it will favor USU more because they get to the line more, mitigating the 3 pt issue.

I really hope the ball issue isn’t in our guys’ head the way it seems to be on this board

I really hope the ball issue isn’t in our guys’ head the way it seems to be on this board Every sport that I know of the players get to choose what balls they use and equipment. Imagine today during the playoffs the qbs were forced to use a ball they didn’t like? In my lifetime, I have never seen a scenario like this where players are being forced to use a ball they don’t like for non-safety reasons. It’s another example of idiocy of the mountain west conference.

It is too bad they lost to UNLV. They were probably looking forward to this game.

Memphis just got beat at home by UGA. Get a W in Logan and go up an extra spot.

I’m most concerned, with the huge, vocal crowd, how that will affect the officiating(and it’s obvious it can). USU getting to the line a bunch and affecting our suddenly shorter bench depth is a big concern to me.

little doubt that playing at Logan this year could be most vocal crowd we face in MW - especially since this is a need to win game for them

It's gonna affect the game there...as much as it affects the game here in front of a huge, vocal crowd...I don't see us getting any special treatment..listen...it's not going to be the refs...the ball...or the crowd...it's gonna be if they out shoot and hustle us...altitude plays a role...but Dutch is gonna have to substitute...my prediction is we stay close or lead in the first...and pull away around the 8 min mark in the 2nd.....

In my lifetime, I have never seen a scenario like this where players are being forced to use a ball they don’t like for non-safety reasons. It’s another example of idiocy of the mountain west conference. Not only the ball, but even how the balls are made ready for play. NFL QBs like their footballs at an exact PSI (ask Tom Brady), MLB pitchers will discard a ball without even throwing it if they don't like the feel of it. The MWC goes one step beyond and changes the model of the ball halfway through the season! Completely ridiculous. At least Utah St. doesn't seem to like that ball either, based on shooting %. Will probably be a fairly low scoring game. N. Mensah would have been a huge help in this game, it's too bad he can't play.
