Its not my job to judge anyone else but for me as an Aztec Fan ( and football season ticket holder for 27 years) I plan on shelving any criticisms of the teams shortcomings until after the bowl game. It may not be what we all hoped for but I would like to see us have a great performance, let our seniors go out in style and kick some ass. Go Aztecs !!!!!!!!!!!

Considering that the men's basketball team plays Utah that day, this was stupid of our athletic department to make fans decide one or the other. I agree we should have pushed more to not play the same as Hoops. You guys realize our athletic dept. had no say in this matter, right? |

Wyomi went to the cheese it bowl which was much better Wyoming went to the Arizona bowl, which is not better than the New Mexico Bowl. Air Force is who went to the Cheez It bowl. Wyoming did not get picked ahead of us in the bowls. We are going to a better bowl game than Wyoming - both in terms of payout and opponent. Yes, the Cheezitz bowl is better than the New Mexico Bowl - similar payout, but much better opponent. |

No we shouldn't have the Arizona bowl. We got the bowl that we deserved. There was no disrespect. Really?You are saying 7-5 Wyoming, 4-4 in division play deserves to go ahead of 9-3 SDSU? Yeah ok. Where did Wyoming go ahead of us? Wyoming went to the Arizona bowl - which is a much MUCH worse bowl than the New Mexico bowl. Are you misinformed and thinking that the Arizona Bowl and the Cheezitz Bowl is the same thing? They are not. Airforce who finished with a better overall and conference record than us went to the Cheezitz bowl. They deserved that over us and we deserved to go to the New Mexico Bowl. |

Remember when everyone begged for any bowl game?  After 10 in a row, all of a sudden we should turn down an invite? Come on folks, a bowl game is better than no bowl game. Of course it would have been nice to play later against K St or Wash St. but it didnât happen, so we have to root for a better result than the last couple years, in particular last year....that was an embarrassment. We all want the team to win. However. I would argue that the quantity of bowl games makes being invited to bottom tier bowl games less than exciting. It is watered down. Turning down bowl games is perfectly fine to me. |

They only won nine games. They beat BYU. They beat UCLA for the first time ever. They beat Fresno State (our longest-running rivalry). What a lousy season! What's wrong with you? I agree we should have pushed more to not play the same as Hoops. You guys realize our athletic dept. had no say in this matter, right? That's not quite correct. We told the MWC that we wanted a bowl before Christmas and the only options are Vegas, Hawaii, Frisco, and NM. The first three were out of the question so we ended up in NM. |

Do you even pay attention? Do you even research to support your stance before posting it? Wyoming is going to the Arizona bowl, not the Cheezitz bowl. The Arizona bowl is NOT better than the New Mexico bowl. New Mexico bowl has well over double the payout than the Arizona bowl. Therefore, Wyoming was not selected over us for a better bowl game. Know what you are talking about next time before talking. |

The team had a good season, not great. Clearly, the offense needs adjustments. Good for the program to get an invite, But doesnât mean we should automatically accept the invite. I will finish by saying, I am proud of the players and the program that rocky has built and I look forward to the day that I get to watch my aztecs in the cotton bowl. |

I am LOL at all the Negative Nellies here on this thread! We had a pretty good year, and yes it could be better, but that is next year. Nothing more can be done other than finish this season with a win in the New Mexico Bowl! Also, you know our opponent could be a lot worse than Central Michigan from the MAC. We could be facing a school from the CUSA or Sun Belt conference like a couple other MW teams. At least the MAC has had some very good schools, or have we forgotten what Ohio (also a MAC team) did to us last year in the Frisco Bowl? And, if you remember back just 3 years ago a MAC team played in the NY6 bowl game (Western Mich.) against Wisconsin in the Cotton Bowl. All I'm saying is that MAC teams are pretty good, and deserve as much respect as we do. And, since we have never played a bowl game in Albuquerque you might as well enjoy it, or stay home. We have played in many bowl games across the country (and Hawaii), and we will be playing in many more before the Bowl Championship Series is over. Plus, the CMU coach is Jim McElwain, who you may know coached Colorado St. from 2012 -2014, and had a winning record before going to Florida. He knows MW teams, and I would say will probably have his team ready for us in the bowl game. So, I look forward to a pretty good game and may the Aztecs come out victorious!  |

IN 2013 and 2014 when McElwain coached Colorado St., the Rocky Long Coached AZTECS did not play Colorado St. because of the two year schedule hyatis, so McElwain did not coach against Rocky Long. I expect that Rocky Long, the coaching staff and AZTEC players will want to redeem themselves against Central Michigan because of what OHIO did to AZTECS in the Frisco Bowl last year. How many good bowls does the MWC conference have? Only one, the Cheez-it Bowl isn't even our bowl. So, unless we win the conference we'll be playing a lot of MAC and CUSA Bowl Games.
