We have 3 good wins and Utah St has 1 good win and a loss. But Utah St is ranked and we aren’t. Just goes to show that voters mostly rely on preseason rankings even a quarter of the way into the season instead of actual results.

Michigan had a very good week: Unranked and #33 in votes last week, to #4 today with 9 first place votes.
There seems to be a lot of parity among the top teams this year. I don't think there's a huge difference from #1 down to #15.

The coaches poll is truly stunning. Texas Tech is ahead of us despite just losing to games to the two teams we just beat.

I was pretty close as I predicted we would be #27. Texas Tech losing to Iowa hurt us. Had we beaten Tech in the finals we would have had a win against a ranked opponent. That would have been enough to get ourselves ranked higher. But we went from only getting 2 points to jumping to #28 and getting 89 points so its not all bad. We will likely be in the top 25 next week as I'm certain a few teams will lose and fall out.

Texas Tech losing actually hurt us. It diminished the value of the Iowa win. Had Texas Tech beat Creighton we would have been ranked. In the long run however a good year by Creighton will bode well for us on selection sunday. But right now Texas Tech losing to a team that got bulldozed by SDSU diminished the whole value of the tournament in the eyes of the voters. Iowa needs to win some games. DePaul needs to win some games.

while the ap poll and coaches poll mean prestige to me the poll that really matters is the rpi ranking and SDSU is no. 15 with 1 win over the top 50 and 2 wins against the top 100. let the season play out by keep winning and the other polls will take care of themselves. GO AZTECS!!!!!!!!

DePaul needs to win some games. You are giving the voters too much credit. I think the issue is a lot of them have no idea what SDSU has done so far. Now if Texas Tech had won and made it to the final and then we beat them, I'd agree they then would have ranked us. |

with our schedule this year - we will need to go undefeated in OOC - no slip ups and winning the first couple of MW games to get close to 25
there is no margin for error
