Byrd is tiny and fragile. You don't run him into a line of 300 pounders. It was inevitable that he'd get hurt that way. They have bigger backs to run up the middle. If that's the case then he shouldn't be a running back

First drive....Agnew 2/5 for 27 yards, Chance Bell with 6 carries for 16 yards, and Byrd with 4 carries for 12 yards

No, we just lost Byrd - taken to the locker room on a cart. He's not big enough or strong enough to run up the middle repeatedly. He's great in space or around the edge, not up the middle. You do realize the game just started correct? If he can't run up the middle then he shouldn't be a running back. Again you have lost it.

Hey, why you're at it why don't you blame Horton for the late start tonight as well. Running backs have to be able to run inside the tackles or they are not running backs.

I'm trying to recall how many times I saw any of the Aztec RBs not run up the middle at the UCLA game. I can't recall hardly a moment

He's not big enough or strong enough to be a between the tackles back. He's fast and can do a lot of things, but effectively running between the tackles on a regular basis isn't one of them. The linemen are literally twice his mass.

Good stand by the defense right there. Saw some pressure on the USU QB.

If you want to win football games, you have to show you can run in between the tackles unless your QB is really, really good. If all he is is fast and fragile make him a WR then. To blame his injury on Horton is just... plain... laughable.

Those were decisions Horton made, and they got Byrd hurt. Do you really think Byrd is big enough or strong enough to run between the tackles regularly?

We're making some really nice plays on offense, but so far we haven't been consistent. Pass blocking has been poor.
The defense looks good, as usual.

Again, this was the first friggen drive so making the comment that running him in between the tackles "regularly" is just, plain laughable. Why don't you just cut your losses and watch the game? Running back have to be able to run between the tackles. Ever heard of Darren Sproles? Players can get hurt in this game. It happens all the time. Blaming what ever injury Byrd has on the OC just shows how little you know about football.

Bell came to play. I like his attitude!!! Not taking any mess!!! Yeah I saw that. He got in the defender's face when he kept after Bell when the play was over, then lowered his shoulder and knocked a defender down on the next play.

He's too fragile. Bell up the middle, and Byrd your change of pace, around the ends type of guy. Like a Darren Sproles.
