with the new transfer rule most likely going into affect starting for the 2021 season - doubt he wants to walk on - could play at any school that gives him a scholarship for 2020 then transfer without sitting
So if Matt is possibly leaving could be an option
But we also need the grad transfer at the 5

After watching some of the videos on him, I think he will have better potential as a rebounder, shot blocker with spring then Matt and I love Matt’s game. Matt is the better shooter from deep/midrange and money on the line. Okereke has wingspan of 6’8” with work ethics. Doesn’t have Matt’s backside but has thick shoulders on him and moves well. Much to like plus he would have a chip on his shoulder. Did not want to use Kawhi reference although Kawhi got better offensively once he was here and then blossom in the NBA. Keep in mine he has only been playing organized ball for 3 years and he was Co-MVP with Dinwiddie. This kid has room to grow. Coach him up. Anyone in the forum see him play live in LA in his senior year? Any thoughts?

Fidelis Okereke has a Matt Mitchell type frame 6’6” 240lbs. Not last years edition but this year. Dude is a load bringing the hammer. Good rim protector avg 16 points and almost 3 blocks a game. Only been playing for 3 years and this year showed significant improvements Thought of initially as a division 2 player now moving into division one consideration. I wonder if he could grow an inch or two more. Straight A student. Very intriguing player especially if Mitchell goes pro. Very intriguing. Definitely a "SDSU-type" recruit. If Flynn and Mitchell both leave, Gomez and Okereke could be pretty decent replacements, and we'd still have room for a GTR to replace Yanni. Although if Mitchell leaves, the other possibility would be both Morgan from LBSU - to sit out a year - plus a GTR Center. Since we're all spit-balling, here's a follow up article on Fidelis Okereke, CO-POY. He has gotten offers from several schools; including Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State East Bay, and Binghamton University. Okereke aided the Golden Eagles to a 25-9 overall record, they also went undefeated in League play. King/Drew was ranked 45th in California with Okereke scoring 16.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 5.0 blocks per game. lasentinel.net/student-athlete-of-the-week-fidelis-okereke.html

He has a few DI & DII offers, perhaps he goes to a Big West school, but may end in the CCAA.

Good luck to the kid, I think we will hear about him in the future from a unfortunately another smaller school.

Some guys are players who reach their peak in HS & are just better HS players against lesser/shorter talent, but without a position at the next level. All City or State accolades don't carry much weight at the next level. It's just like some players are great college players with no shot at the NBA, but could do well overseas. This kid looks to be targeted for the "overseas" of college basketball, or lower division hoops.

He is actually averaging 16 pts 10 boards, 5 block shots a game instead of 3. Had 5 triple doubles this year. Has only been playing organized ball for 3 years.
If this kid were 6’ 9” instead of 6’6” with these numbers he would be a 4 star and a lot of teams would be breaking down his door. Also we are not talking about a suspect pasture league player from the Midwest. This is the big time inter league in LA. Likes defense and is good near the rim. Get me the warrior type we need battlers. Has room to grow. Probably ends up in international after college, but I could live with that.

I think he could make a terrific PF, would probably need a couple seasons of development to play significant minutes for the Aztecs... but seems exactly like the kind of player who could develop into an all-MW PF by his JR or at least Sr year.
But... to come to SDSU he might have to walk on his frosh year (and maybe redshirt).

He’s built like freakin athlete... he rebounds, defends and blocks shots. He is a very solid backup C/PF and since he’ll get overlooked because of his lack of height, somebody is gonna get a steal and immediate production. I would take him over a skinny, 6’10 project. He’s ready to play his role now

Could of been a good option for us after next year when Mitchel Graduates. Triple doubles in any league is hard especially with blocks, most kids foul out or are sitting with 4 fouls on the bench. Only played 3 years of ball, were will he be in 5 years? Northridge gets what they don’t have. A defensive presents. Man they sucked defensively. Look at the undersized center from Quinnipiac Kevin Marfo who we were all wanting ends up at Texas A&M and Dude is listed at 6’ 8”. One of the best rebounders in the country. Probably more like 6’7”. Give me a dam break. It’s about want, blocking out and getting my dam ball Why did a recent center not get on the floor more? Defense? One of my favorite defensive players at SDSU was Dakari Allen but he was a step down offensively. Still got on the floor and made up for lack of offensive by taking offensive points away from other teams. Good thing is he did not end up at UNLV, Fresno or New Mexico. I am fine with this.

CSU came out of no where and thankful he did not go there. No wonder he moved his decision to today. Dude has some big hands and is built like a tank.

Averaged 25.6 PPG as a sophomore and 24.8 PPG as a freshman. I know he put his name in to the NBA draft, but I dont see that in the cards.
