UNR still winless at Viejas. Aztecs shut down the UNR scoring machine tonight. Strongest D all season.

Win for Mr. Dutcher. Take 5. Have a beer. This was dope. A good win, the team continues to show progress. What it also illustrated is the MW is stocked with paper tigers and also rans. That said, what matters at this point, heading towards the tournament, is how the team performs in Logan and Reno.

But yes, we're not done yet. "We're on to Las Vegas." youtu.be/kjeh_PiqUU8

His signature win was in the MW Tournament last year. He'll enjoy this one, though.

Apparently this is the highest ranked team we've ever beaten?
I looked it up and Kansas was 16 when we beat them.

So a 24-2 team that was one bucket away from making the Elite Eight last year is a paper tiger? Please tell me more.

Yeah I'd def say Kansas at home with Embiid and Wiggins was a vastly more impressive win but they just had a higher number next to their name There is zero, and I mean ZERO, reason to pour mouth, minimize or otherwise gainsay the win last night, in any respect. Besides, we already have rtaztec to do that for us.

Besides, we already have nearlyinthegroundaztec to do that for us. I wouldn't say being realistic about the challenge of winning on the road vs home is bad mouthing the win. It was a great win and the guys look like they finally want to salvage the season. But IMO, winning at Kansas was a program defining win. Just like winning at Gonzaga was a program changing win a few years before. Be honest with yourself. In 20 years if someone says "What do you remember of SDSU basketball?", you'll say the two sweet sixteens and winning at Kansas (and being the better team the whole damn game). No one here even knew Nevada was the highest ranked team we'd beaten until I mentioned it. So get off your horse and don't make drama out of nothing.

Nonsense and you keep giving backhanded compliments - "salvage the season" - what kind of crap is that. LTB and I both pointed out the history of SDSU in prior posts, him with the victory over #7 teams back in the 80s and me with the victory over #8 BYU in 2011. So, you're wrong there too When the history books are written or updated, they will now say that the highest ranked team SDSU basketball ever beat was #6 Nevada. They will say very little, if anything, about them beating Kansas at Kansas. People may remember it, but it's not on their wikipedia page, and it isn't in yesterday's game notes.

There are plenty of us folks that knew Reno was the highest ranked. You’re just blowing smoke👎🏻

Be honest with yourself. In 20 years if someone says "What do you remember of SDSU basketball?", you'll say the two sweet sixteens and winning at Kansas (and being the better team the whole damn game). Actually, I've been following Aztec basketball for 40 years now, and there's much, much more to remember than two sweet 16 appearances and a win at Kansas. Just a sampling in no particular order or importance: - Back-to-back wins over then-WAC powers UNM and UTEP to win the WAC Tourney in '85
- A raucous, near-sell-out Sports Arena to beat No. 7 ranked UTEP in '84.
- Michael Cage's 40-pt./20-rebound game against Wyoming
- Tony Gwynn's mano-a-mano duel against Danny Ainge and BYU
- The NIT win against St. Mary's at home (first post-season win ever for SDSU)
- First win in about 70 years against UCLA at the Honda Center with the crowd about 80/20 SDSU fans
- Massive 16-pt comeback against UNM at home to win the MGC regular season title
- MGC Championship Tourney win over BYU and the Jimmer
- Win on the road against the Zags
- 21-game win streak to start the season with Jamaal & Co.
- No. 4 ranking with Jamaal & Co.
- Win over No. 6 Nevada, who, if you didn't know, had been steamrolling everything and everyone, then, well, you either weren't much of a college hoops fan or just weren't paying attention
I could go on, but, you get the point. And, hey, thanks for playing.
