Are the Aztecs pursuing this guy as a transfer? If not, WHY not?
He has been described as a legitimate NBA prospect. Current NBA players have attested to his high levels of skills, after playing with him.
A "one and done" senior who boogies off to the NBA might help this team a lot!

For starters it’s illegal

That has not stopped a lot of big time programs in the past; if the most recent trial can be considered as evidence.
Why can't a D1 program entice a d2 player to transfer?
How did Raymond "Circus" King end up at another University?

For starters it’s illegal Huh? What would be "illegal" about SDSU recruiting him as a graduate-transfer? If there's some "technicality" in contacting players at this time of year, it's really not hard to have someone not directly affiliated with SDSU reach out to the guy on behalf of the program.

Tampering.
The kid would need to reach out to SDSU first.
Edit: I believe SDSU could pro-actively reach out to him... 'IF' he declares that he is grad transfer eligible.

Got it. So the 'intermediary' route, eg Clint Parks.

We’re not a Blue Blood or a P5...if we get caught, we will get punished.

We’re not a Blue Blood or a P5...if we get caught, we will get punished. What a great article, all basketball fans should read it. I’m inspired to go watch the guy and root for him. According to the article he can play Div 2 this year and then transfer for his senior year to a Div 1 school, and play right away. I think we should try to get this kid for his senior year unless he decides to go pro. This kid has the drive and work ethic we need on the Mesa. According to Clint parks he has a beautiful outside shot and can really get off the floor at 6-8 or so.

According to the UT numerous coaches/high majors are already contacting his coach @ PLNU. If they can contact him, why can't Dutcher do the same?
Hommes is already in SD and might like to have a real shot @ MM.
Being from the state of Washington, he is likely to have some familiarity with the basketball careers of the McDaniels brothers and Malachi Flynn. He just might enjoy playing with these fellow Washingtonians for a year. They could do great things together in sunny San Diego.

I'll have to get down to PLNU to see that sweet jump shot. Seems odd he'd rather play at PLNU to start with, but maybe he's trying to take it easy on that knee.

He would have had to sit out a year at a Div 1 school, Div 2 he does not have to sit out. I plan to get out to see him too, I wish him good health moving forward. He may want to transfer to the Mesa next year to show what he can do at D1 level.

He could play one season at Point Loma and turn pro. He could return for a second season with the Sea Lions. He could graduate this spring and transfer to a Div. I program for his senior year without sitting out.

Man, just watched the video. That is a sweet shot. Dude can definitely shoot, hence, not a great fit for SDSU.
