I am not sure about Eric, but I can do whatever I want with my Estate by a little planning. I just don't think you should have to do that. A little planning is too much work? Gad, you give government service a bad name. It's not the work for most people, it's the MONEY. You have to hire a tax lawyer or financial planner to set up your estate.

You have to hire a tax lawyer or financial planner to set up your estate. Most people seek help for their estates to avoid probate, not estate tax. As the link I posted at the top shows very few people pay estate tax. Unless you take the proper steps, if your estate is over 100K you are in probate court. The normal fee to handle probate is 4% of the amount probated. That can be stiff. Probate does have some benefits, though.

If a claim is not made in probate court in a timely manner all such claims and debts are extinguished. Those the heirs inherit with clean title to the property.

Interesting. Thanks!
