He plays small forward which is good but we have three at that position unless Shakel is a shooting guard then we have a spot open.

Our door is open to anyone who is better than the guys we currently have on the roster regardless of position. It's up to the coaches to determine if he's better than what we have now.

I'd love to have him, but my guess is he's Pac-12 bound.

They interviewed Vance's dad . Great experience at UCONN but dad feels that he needs to be at a place where he can show more of skills , not just head for the the corner and shoot . wants a better offensive scheme . UConn also let go assistant coach V. Miller , who was the major connection for Vance . Believe they did bring in an assistant from Washington - that was a major recruiter ?

Vance is a shooter with a iffy handle, if you want him to handle the ball and playmake, and drive a lot he is not going to be good.

Vance is a shooter with a iffy handle, if you want him to handle the ball and playmake, and drive a lot he is not going to be good. Not sure if anyone noticed but the Aztecs can use a scorer/shooter.
This from the Hartford Courant: "Jackson did not lack for playing time. He started 21 games and averaged 26.9 minutes, 8.1 points and 3.8 rebounds. Jackson shot 39.7 percent on three-pointers, tops on the team, and was especially hot during a midseason stretch. Jackson was twice the AAC rookie of the week and made the postseason all-rookie team." "His father, Vance Jackson Sr., was a frequent critic of the the way his son was used in games, expressing that he should get more shots. Over the weekend, Vance Sr. tweeted, "Coach Miller leaving really hurts." www.courant.com/sports/uconn-mens-basketball/hc-uconn-vance-jackson-leaving-0329-20170328-story.html

Jackson started 21 games as a freshman, averaging eight points and 3.8 rebounds per game. He was a two-time AAC Rookie of the Week selection on Jan. 16 and 23, as he reached double-figures in 12 games.
His season-highs of 17 points and five made three-pointers came against SMU on Jan. 19. In conference play, he averaged a 48.4-percent shooting rate from long distance – the best mark in the American.

He'll end up at a school where he'll play 38 minutes and gets 30+ shots a game...definitely not an Aztecs (or OR, UCLA, Ariz) type player...where the points and minutes are well distributed...
...although it does seem like he might be a good choice for Cal, St. Mary's, NM, Wash, or CSU (on the west coast).

What would be his motivation to come to SDSU?....to play less minutes?...get less shots...have to actually play defense?...
