If you remember we were deep in his recruitment before he commited to Cal. That being said with Schakel and Seiko on board I'm not sure there would be interest from either side

That Seiko commit is killing me I hope I do not have a heart attack between that and the center problems.

His Statement today: "I committed to Cal as a high school sophomore and signed with the Golden Bears last fall primarily based upon my close relationship with Cuonzo Martin and his ability to develop me not only as a player but also as a person. Unfortunately that possibility no longer exists for me at Cal due to Coach (Cuonzo) Martin deciding to accept the Missouri job. Due to those factors I just listed, I have decided to re-open my recruitment and explore all possible opportunities and options. This is in no way a reflection on Cal as an institution or program. Cal is a tremendous school with a historic basketball tradition. I just feel that due to the current circumstances, I need to consider all my options. I appreciate people understanding the current situation I am in."

He committed as a sophomore, so there was somthing about Martin and Hufnagel's kooliad he was drinking. Mizzou can turn the corner with the potential recruits coming in.

Cal is a tremendous school with a historic basketball tradition. An historic basketball tradition? Is this guy delusional? Post 1960 (Cal won a championship in 1959 and was runner-up in 1960), they haven't done squat. Aside from delivering Jason Kidd to the NBA, they have two S16 appearances over the past two decades -- the same as SDSU.

Also, Not sure that Cal actually delivered Jason Kidd but rather he just used Cal as a pit stop on the way from High School to the NBA.

It's just PR on the part of the kid, nothing wrong with that. Cal did make the Final 4 a couple decades ago as well, with Tony Gonzalez in the starting lineup - future hall of fame tight end.

We made the top 9! We have the prior relationship which should help, but that's some tough competition.

Interesting. Seiko would probably redshirt if Baker were to join us.

Interesting. Seiko would probably redshirt if Baker were to join us. Seiko would most likely de commit this is what we need.Baker is about two or three times as good as Seiko.Baker is averaging 17.8 with 3.5 rebounds per game.Get him here and cancel Seiko's key card to the jam center.
