This is very surprising, but I have a thought on this. Sean Miller usually goes after a recruit or 2 that isn't AZ good every couple years as well, and I think this is about having to fill a bunch of spots this year so... you give 1 guy a spot that recognizes he isn't going to play much at all and that his role is at the end of bench. Of course it's possible Fisher/Hutson/Dutcher see more in him but that's my guess. Either that or trying to get on good side of Sierra Canyon's staff

From the twitter comments -- seems like he is a good shooter, a hard-worker and a great team guy. He also sounds like he is a great defender. Don't think he's going to be highly ranked, but seems like he could be an under-the-radar recruit that out performs his ranking. Last year's team under-achieved with a lot of highly ranked guys and there was discussion around them not having enough "hungry" guys. Adam seems like he could help there. Welcome to the Mesa Adam!
Here are a few tweets I found -- apologize if any of these are repeats.

A few things to note his AAU Team - Phx Phamily is made up of his Sierra Canyon team mates. All are big time names, highly recruited by High Majors; Marvin Bagley 5* (#1 in 2018), Cody Riley 4* (top 50 PF), Remy Martin 4* (committed to ASU). His story is that he plays Defense and can shoot the Three. Here are his 2016 AAU #s:
Games - 16 MPG - 27.2 PPG - 10.6 RPG - 4.5 APG - 1.8 TOPG - 1.3 SPG - 1.1 FG% - 45% FT% - 72% 3FG% - 40% (31-78)
And has been the 4th offensive option in HS and with his AAU team. But he can shoot and is a big tough, combo guard. He is a sleeper and will be ranked by the services by the next go around. Most of the press, had only dood things to say about him all summer.

I'd be shocked if he was ever ranked top 150 this year but maybe he can slip into bottom 5th of 247 rankings (looks like they went to 261 last year)

He won't be a star, but I can see him developing into a good role player and every team needs that.

His game is defense and shooting. Let's hope he continues to shoot well.

Seiko appears to be the second coming of JJ (Glue Guy) O'Brien per Evans and under the radar per Zeg.

Seiko appears to be the second coming of JJ (Glue Guy) O'Brien. A glue guy who shoots better than 40% from three and has been a winner against the highest levels of competition since his middle school years. He's got good size for the position AND plays D. He sounds like a nice addition.

I read it. Other than his stickiness (heady play and effort), the description of his game bares little resemblance to that of JJ's. Their differences are many. Seiko is a guard, has good size for his position, has shot over 40% from three, has played against top level competition with top level teammates, and was 3rd or fourth fiddle on offense. It could be argued that his game echoes Winston's. They both played for high level teams, defended the best players on the opposing team and were not primary scorers. But, I don't see that as a good comparison either.

Nope, SDSU isn't going to react to how another team plays/recruits then clearly you haven't been paying attention. getting tougher all around was/is clearly a priority. also did you think it was just a coincidence he was with Nike Team?

size wise closer to D' Williams - solid build . So for 2017 we lose guards wings , D. Williams , D. Allen , Matt , Valentine Izundu at the 5 and very likely Malik 4 or 3 position . Have added Watson and Seiko both guards . So need could again be a guy that plays the 5 ? Unless Nolan and Z have become talents there ?

He has a pretty natural looking stroke which could be real nice if he is as solid of a defender as people are saying. I like the pick up
