UNLV, Boise and Nevada have been mentioned as possible future destinations for several transfers. SDSU only with the so-so player from Tennessee. Leonard Allen may be the best potential immediately eligible 5 out there for the Aztecs, his dad played for SDSU and Allen Jr. is playing for a local JC. Anyone know what's going on with his recruitment or did I miss something on him committing elsewhere?

Leonard's a shot blocking 5. We need a 5 for interior defense. He will be immediately eligible. We need someone who is immediately eligible. He's familiar with the area and the program as his dad was a great 5 for the Aztecs and he plays for a San Diego JC. We should be the favorite but I haven't heard anything for months and so far it appears that we are not in the running for any high profile bigs, or for that matter, players at any position.

If our staff actually thought he was right for the program and/or if we are truly "the favorite", then we probably would have heard something a long time ago. We also don't know if he will be "immediately eligible", unless you have access to his transcripts? For all we know he may be a grade risk.
It's very possible Allen is a contingency recruit. We've told him we'll officially offer if Player X, Y & Z don't come here, and/or if he is scholastically eligible when their quarter/semester ends. My guess is they've seen him play more than enough to make a better call than anyone here on this board, and the fact he hasn't signed and/or schools aren't knocking down his door tells me a lot is unknown.
We know we're interested in Kasongo (sp?) & Watson; beyond that, we don't know if we've offered to just 2, 5 or 25 potential recruits/transfers for 2016. My guess would be at the lower end of that scale, but more than 2.

Hes 7ft. Tall and can hit both perimiter shots and free throws, maybe we can teach him hands of stone and hurrendous shooting technique? Just kidding, it's going to be a long long off season. |

Hmmm. Reading between the lines, his Tweet from Nov. 1 implied he would complete have earned his Associates degree when SDCC grades are posted in mid-January. If that's the case, then it would not make sense for him to be on that team if his next move would be to sit out until Fall 2017. All tea leaf reading conjecture on my part . . . Perhaps he's just practicing with the team this semester. Somebody out there will know.

OK so here is a list of 3 star or less near 7 foot players:Chris Vogt 6-11 215 {scout grade} 79 3 star
Soloman Roddell 7-0 230 69 2 star.................... I would take both of these players in a heartbeat both could use a redshirt,Vogt has the skill just needs more weight and Roddell needs to work on a few things has the size to shut down the middle.

*All other HS 7 foot players are gone we did not offer any except Ayton and Mccoy who were worth going after of course, but highly improbable to sign.

Since we're just throwing name out, there is a 6'10 250 3-star center at St. Paul's HS named Louis Bengai in the class of 2017 and 6'11 Malik Ondigo who moved from Nevada to PSA Academy Conn, hasn't signed yet. We looked at him over the summer. |
