That's where you have it wrong. The pipeline is not Compton Magic. The pipeline will come from Steve Alford. The guy is a noted douche bag and asshole. We know this because we saw his antics at UNM. Recruits see through this and is the reason why UCLA has not pulled a stud class in quite sometime. One of the AC's of UCLA used to help run the Compton Magic, so even if Leaf picks SDSU, the pipeline wouldn't really be there you might want to look at who they've signed for 15,16,17 already. A majority of them from Compton magic including our hometown kid jaylen hands.

Does the closed door scrimmage between the two teams have any barring on Leaf's decision? I hope the young man wants to be a part of something really special here in San Diego. Things could get really really big if he joins the talent at SDSU.

how could a closed door scrimmage possibly affect a recruit's choice?!?!? Maybe I'm off-base, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's waiting until after the scrimmage just so there's no awkwardness/smugness between the winner and loser of his services...not that the outcome of the scrimmage will affect his decision.

Looking at Leaf last night, he is a very skinny kid, and will be at least a two year guy. I don't think Pope goes NBA this year either. If Pope stays, and Leaf commits to SDSU, and we also pick up a decent big out of the JC or 5th year Senior ranks ------------------- SDSU is a threat to go to the final four! Congratulations, you're probably the only person in the free world who doesn't think Pope is leaving after this year.

The kid is obviously in no rush to sign. I find it odd that if UCLA were such a lock he would've joined them already.

He's probably waiting until Signing Day next week to announce his decision at school or the Hall of Champions. I highly doubt he's waiting to see who does what in some meaningless scrimmage or so there are no hurt feelings when the two teams scrimmage.

Congratulations, you're probably the only person in the free world who doesn't think Pope is leaving after this year. It is not a lock that Pope is leaving after this season. He missed a ton of time with 2 leg fractures and is slowly making his way back. We saw glimpses last season, but nowhere near NBA level. This season he has bulked up a bit and is looking good. He needs to stay healthy and prove that he is NBA ready. At the end of the season, Fisher will let him know if he is ready to play at the next level.

Is it not possible that watching the scrimmage would give Leaf a better feel for where he might fit? I know he has played with many, if not most, of these guys before, but watching them play could have an impact on his decision.

Well if he had access then it would probably be a recruiting violation since it's a closed scrimmage.

Leaf attended the Aztecs game last Monday and would not be surprised if he went up to UCLA last week to watch them play their x game . Not sure if he went up to watch the Ducks ? He could decide next week , either binding NLI or just verbal or say he wants to wait until the spring . Only he knows .

how could a closed door scrimmage possibly affect a recruit's choice?!?!? How could it not? I wouldnt think so, but thats why i pose the question. He's obviously not in a rush. And its down to us and ucla and oregon. seems like a pretty legit question. maybe he's just waiting til after that game.
