how could a closed door scrimmage possibly affect a recruit's choice?!?!? How could it not? I wouldnt think so, but thats why i pose the question. He's obviously not in a rush. And its down to us and ucla and oregon. seems like a pretty legit question. maybe he's just waiting til after that game. Why would a meaningless game have any influence over his decision?

Leaf attended the Aztecs game last Monday and would not be surprised if he went up to UCLA last week to watch them play their x game . Not sure if he went up to watch the Ducks ? He could decide next week , either binding NLI or just verbal or say he wants to wait until the spring . Only he knows . It would have been reported if he went to Oregon/ucla exhibition games.

Does the closed door scrimmage between the two teams have any barring on Leaf's decision? No. Not even the slightest.

The game isn't "meaningless" or they wouldn't play it. Doesn't count toward either team's record, but that doesn't make it meaningless. Not saying that has any sway necessarily on Leaf's decision, but if he was attending (doubt it) he could be looking at all kinds of factors (style of play, coaching, teammate interaction, Alford's ugly jacket, etc.).

The longer he waits to announce his decision, the more I think SDSU has a legit shot. EVERYONE thinks he is going to UCLA but if so, why would he not commit already? He certainly has enough visits/information. Anyway, probably just getting hopes up for no reason.

Because he HASN'T decided yet. My point is - if UCLA was the obvious choice that everyone thought it would be, he would have taken all the visits and committed to UCLA. I think he may be torn between the expected choice and the school that is closer to home. He doesn't want to make a decision that he may regret again (remember, he already committed to Arizona then changed his mind) and therefore is taking his time. He will still very likely go to UCLA but at this point if he chooses SDSU, it wouldn't be a complete shock (like Cage to Oregon). -=-= Either that or he is just waiting to see who wins the secret scrimmage.

He can Verbal any time he wants - not binding until he signs NLI - Early signing time for NLI is only 11/11 - 11/18 . After that the regular Signing/Binding time starts again mid April , So if still undecided he can wait until then , if he chooses . His options . He knows SDSU will hold open scholarship , Ducks also UCLA who knows ?

41 pages on this? He must be very, very good! Considering; his ability, the investigation, the fact that he's a local talent, our need, the lack of commits since the investigation 'leak' and our collective enthusiasm for the program as a whole...yes, he would be a very big get for us.

Once again...at UCLA, he will not be able to showcase his skill due to all the talent already there or coming in...shots will be limited and that will hurt his draft stock..at Oregon, a blessing in disguise of Michael cage Jr electing to go there...he want to Play the 4 and that's Leaf's natural position...and top of that Keith Smith another forward..3 top forwards going there, playing time and shots will be restricted...
That leaves our school SDSU...will be the starter and will be counted on to deliver as the go to person at the 4 position...
There's no way he doesn't pick SDSU..this is where his heart is and where he will be a "focal" point of our offense

If he holds his decision off until the spring signing period, then this thread will probably get to 100 pages long lol
