I am trying to set up pro boards mobile and when I try to access the site it tells me that the board is closed, is that something the admin needs to enable? www.proboards.com/iphone

From the thread tacked to the top of Aztecmesa written by AztecPanther Erik:
"Comments posted on Aztec Mesa are solely the views and opinions of the people posting them and do not necessarily reflect the views or opinions of AztecMesa.com.
Public figures and people in the news may find themselves subject to the opinions noted above.
Personal attacks and insults are not encouraged in any way.
Caution is suggested when posting comments about others, particularly certain people in the news who may have an axe to grind regarding public comments about them. « Last Edit: Nov 9, 2010, 9:27pm by AztecPanther Erik » "
May I emphasize the line: Personal attacks and insults are not encouraged in any way. When personal attacks and insults are heaved on one poster (no matter how irrational that poster may have been behaving), it remains wrong.
If a poster is being ridiculous, ignore him. If you take the high road, Aztecmesa.com will remain a fantastic place where San Diego State alumni and fans can have their say.
But, if you seek revenge on an insult, you only lower yourself to that person's lower level, and you make the board a tedious morass of in-fighting among Aztec fans.
It's okay to delete your post before you click "send."
It's even okay to go back and modify your posts if you didn't mediate your anger the first time around.
Do what DJ Gay would do.

It's a shame that I had to ban a member today and issue a zillion warnings and send out a boatload of PM's explaining them.
The rules have to be followed. I'd hate to have to ban anyone else (hopefully I won't have to).

Again, taunting is against forum rules. That is where many needless flame wars start.
Posting pictures that mock the feelings of other board members is a form of taunting. Don't do it.
Thanks.

This board has been so much better over the last week, it great to come on here and see threads about the teams. I just wanted to put it out there. The board has improved greatly.

FYI...
Coming back to the board under a new name after being banned is also against the rules and subject to immediate banning.

Erik, I'm just curious. Did Steve get a lifetime ban, or can he come back eventually.

Again, re-joining the board under a new username is subject to IMMEDIATE banning.
Steve Aztec, this means you (along with everyone else that it would apply to). Knock it off.
When you're banned you're banned. You are no longer welcomed on this board. Let it go and move on.

Steve, please read the above post, or better yet, start your own Aztec board. If you've got your own board you set the rules and you can post whatever you want.
If you come back again you'll just get banned again asap.
Please, let it go and move on.

By the way, there is a misconception that, "Bad," language will get you in trouble on The Mesa.
Not so.
Namecalling will get you a warning (repeated warnings will result in a banning), but there is only one word that has been prohibited on the board (a call made by the mod team).
I think the hope is that the board members would conduct themselves in a classy fashion, but you won't receive a warning for use of, "Bad," language. Excessive use of bad language may get posts edited or deleted, but unless you cross a line you won't get a warning.
FYI...

Another point worth noting...
If a post is strictly personal, and is part of a back and forth personal argument among two or more board members, it may be deleted. We want to keep the threads on topic. If you've got an issue with someone like that take it to PM.
Thanks!

My apologies if Craig James reads this board and feels sad.

I'm a noob to this forum, so take this for what it's worth. As an alum and long time (suffering) fan, I was very happy to find this forum. Unfortunately, it seems to have more than it's share of trolls and foul mouthed, bitter "fans". Threads with titles like "F**K BYU" may make the poster feel better (I guess?), but they degrade SDSU, our teams and our fans. I totally understand the frustration of losing to BYU. I'm very, very tired of that result, too. But a forum called "AZTECMESA", that is liberally adorned with official Aztec logos, is going to be perceived as representing SDSU, regardless of any disclaimer. How can we expect our student athletes to represent us with dignity and class, when our forum is so much less than that. Do any individuals who are actually associated with the school/athletic dept ever post on this forum? I certainly wouldn't if I was in their position. Please consider what this forum should be and how it is currently viewed by our school, alumni, fans, athletes, and yes, even our opponents. Some food for thought from a noob. Aztec then, Aztec now, Aztec forever!
