I love Jamaal and will defend him when no others will, but even I am over his constant 3-ball clanking.
Nevertheless:

4 things are certain in life: death, taxes, Shelton taking charges, and Jamaal chucking up threes

It's curious when he passes up catch-and-shoot 3s and when he takes pull-up 3s. I can't make heads or tails of it.

This three-point-shooting thing is so perplexing. I just don't see what's so hard about. And I don't see why this team can't seem to figure it out.
Let's just do a little math:
Tapley & Thames: 5-8 (62.5%) Everyone else: 1-11 (9%)
Ergo, if your last name doesn't start with T, you don't get to shoot from behind the arc. Simple.
Why everyone on this team seems to think they're the greatest thing since Larry Bird is beyond me. JJ's trey attempt was beyond ugly. WS3's was even uglier, if that's possible. And when JF shoots a trey, it's as good as a turnover.
Maddening.

Doesn't really bother me, honestly. You know Jamaal is good for at least 3 ill-advised shots per game. Shep's three was ugly, but he made a beautiful stepback J just inside the arc, so whatever. Can't argue with 9 points and 8 rebounds, improved free throw shooting and terrific defense. Jamaal's defensive intensity bothers me more than anything. Jogging back in transition, standing upright instead of a defensive stance, not closing out on a shooter, etc, etc.

Jamaal dribbling and getting picked by a stiff from Nevada...are you kidding? The more I watch, the more I can't believe JFrank will get drafted, potential or not, they guy has not improved at all from last year. In fact, I would argue he digressed slightly.

More than slightly. In my mind you always need to subtract from his stats the points he gives up from stupid turnovers and the bricks he throws up. He may get drafted, but he is not an NBA player.

The good thing aout Jamaal taking his threes is that it keeps the defenses honest. They know he isn't afraid to chuck up a three so they guard him as such. So when he fakes a three, he usually gets his guy in the air and drives right by him for a lay up or a two shot foul. Kinda like running the ball in football so that play action can be effective.

I was shaking my head at Jamaals end of the half rim job where he nearly got injured. Figured that would stop him but he kept doing it in the second half. They broke the mold with jfrank.

Jamaal plays outside himself. He is always pushing his boundarys. Most of the time that means spectacular plays, sometimes it means wtf plays. When it comes to Jamaal I will take the sometimes bad to get the spectacular.

There is nothing good about Jamaal taking threes. And, no, it doesn't keep the defense honest. And, no, it's nothing like running the ball in football so the play action can be effective. If Jamaal could hit more than 16% from behind the arc (his average for the last three games (24% for the year)), then teams might get up in his face on the outside. But they don't. They sag back, giving him the outside shot and defending the driving and passing lanes. They want him to shoot the outside shot. They would much rather he do that than take it inside where he is naturally dangerous. The thing I really don't understand about JF is that it seems like he could tweak just one or two things about his game and he would be a dramatically more efficient player. And they're not things related to height, strength, vertical leap, etc. -- things that are difficult or impossible to change. They're things that have to do with what's between the ears. If he would just stop shooting from the outside and stop giving up unforced turnovers, the guy would be instantly and dramatically better. But for whatever reason, he refuses to take his game up a notch. It's maddening to watch.

Jamaal leads the team with 71 turnovers over 19 games. Next in line is Shepard with 35. Tapley has 21 and Thames has 15. That's what gets me SMH at Jamaal.
