Jamaal leads the team with 71 turnovers over 19 games. Next in line is Shepard with 35. Tapley has 21 and Thames has 15. That's what gets me SMH at Jamaal. Yes, those stats are just as shocking as his persistence in shooting treys. To put it in perspective, JF leads the MGC in turnovers and turnovers per game. Nationwide, he is 19th in total turnovers and 9th in turnovers per game. Those are some really horrible stats. There are guys who couldn't be in the top 10 in turnovers even if they really tried. It's hard to be that bad. When you combine his poor three-point shooting with his propensity for turnovers, you really have to think that he's almost completely negating his offensive output with his sloppy play that leads to points at the other end.

Last season Jamaal was a 32.5% three point shooter. Good for second on the team. Jamaal's is 25.4% so far this season. Guys guard you harder when you go from a 2 minute a game freshman to a MWC MVP and NBA prospect. He has not adjusted like one would hope. His game IQ isn't quite where it should be, but I think my "SMH" instances this year are nearly halved from 5-6 a game to 2-3 a game... granted they are always like "WTF THIS IS CRITICAL" points in the game because he is out go to guy, but look because he is a critical part of our offense he is going to jack up some 3's, its fine, he has the ability to hit them. X-Thames was only 30% last year and is shoot an outrageous 43.1 this year. It ebbs and flows.

His three's are fine, but you are 100% right, he needs to spend a little less time in the gym, and more time working on ball handling drills, no one should be coughing up the ball that much. No one.

Guys guard you harder when you go from a 2 minute a game freshman to a MWC MVP and NBA prospect. He has not adjusted like one would hope. Just because he was second on the team in 3-pt. percentage doesn't mean he's any good. It has more to do with the fact that we don't have any pure shooters. 32.5% isn't very good. Decent college shooters should be 36% and above, minimum. Very good shooters should be over 40%. The other thing is that his percentage hasn't gone down because he's being guarded more closely. If anything, he's being guarded loosely. Teams are letting him fire away from the outside. Just watch his shots. Most of them are wide open. Teams are daring him to shoot. Rarely does he take a trey with a guy's hand in his face. He's just flat-out clanking them. As for the comparison with Thames, just watch the two of them shoot. Thames has a very smooth stroke. When he shoots the three, the ball has great rotation, hits the back of the rim, spins downward and ripples quickly through the net. Franklin has an awkward shot and when he actually hits one, it isn't pure. And when he misses, he usually misses ugly.

32.5 isn't pretty, and he obviously need to lower the attempts. Maybe he needs to move that in for a 2 point jumper or something, but if he ALWAYS goes to the net, defenses will know where he is going. I rather him take an open shot than try and beat 2-3 guys cutting into the lane in traffic. He has improved his passing (not enough). If he gets drafted this year, it will be as a project, if he doesn't, he certainly has room to improve his shooting.

He Is the best player on the team, period. Yes, I loveTaps and he is the most fundamental player I can remember on the mesa but JF puts points on the board he makes points happen by forcing the issue , getting fouled , hitting free throws . We do not have another scoreer off the dribble on this team.

Jamaal had about 8 deflections and 4 steals in the first 5 mins of the game. His energy got us off to a great start.

His act is old. At least we don't have to worry about him leaving for the NBA. Twice the player last year as he is this year

Jamaal dribbling and getting picked by a stiff from Nevada...are you kidding? The more I watch, the more I can't believe JFrank will get drafted, potential or not, they guy has not improved at all from last year. In fact, I would argue he digressed slightly. More than slightly. In my mind you always need to subtract from his stats the points he gives up from stupid turnovers and the bricks he throws up. He may get drafted, but he is not an NBA player. I agree wholeheartedly. I have been saying the same thing now for awhile - - - Jamaal is not a smart player...he has God-given natural talents that usually show themselves at least a couple of times each game - - - but his "Game IQ"....AUGGHHHH ! Just HORRIBLE !

We do not have another scoreer off the dribble on this team. He might be the best player, but I certainly wouldn't add a "period" for emphasis. Right now, that's taking it too far. I don't think anyone's bashing JF's obvious talents. The thing that drives everyone nuts (or me, at least) is that the guy could be much, much better with just a couple tweaks. Shoot half as many treys per game, don't throw sloppy passes and stop with the histrionics/technical nonsense. Those are easy fixes and would improve his game dramatically overnight.

Jack in the Box should add to their taco giveaway. They should bring back the Hot Apple Turnover and have a tie-in to Jamaal's turnover total each night. Jamaal averages 3.9 turnovers per game so if he keeps it under 4, everybody gets a free turnover. That is hilarious and a great idea!!! Hahahhahaha
