"Aztecs' new OC Bob Toledo wants offense to resemble Alabama's"
Having things resemble anything Alabama football related is a good thing. Especially girlfriends.

“I’ve been in California a long, long time,” Toledo said. “I was born and raised here and have coached at several schools here, so I just know a lot of people.”
I hope this translates to a recruiting bonanza.

I was in line at the supermarket the other day and I said "fear the spear" to the woman behind me. She just gave me a confused look, so I guess that one hasn't caught on yet.

EXCELLENT O-line future = CHECK Big backs (Muema, Jones, Stamps) = CHECK Let's see it O-Line's pass blocking was exposed against BYU. we have some seniors graduating, so hopefully the new guys can step up and make improvements in that area.

Meh, the Dilley injury forced Embernate ou to RT and it all fell apart after that.

Meh, the Dilley injury forced Embernate ou to RT and it all fell apart after that. yea, he got beat like a drum out there, but he's been the unquestioned pulling guard for 3 years, why would he even spend time working on a drop step? It was likely a mistake sticking him out there, maybe should have gone with one of the kids, but regardless, yea, that injury killed us.

If we are going to be "Alabama West" then we need to get some real beef up front. Their line averages 311 a man where ours averages 290 a man.
Their DL average is 289 btw.

This boggled my mind as well...I am sure Jimmy Miller or Rodriguez or Poole would have been better out there

Last years O-Line averaged 297 lbs. I am pretty sure next years line will be bigger (less experienced for sure). I didn't look up Alabama's average weight for thier line but they had one guy who weighed something like 330 lbs. Either way we are not in their league when it comes to overall size of players... better then sdsu has been in years, but not there yet.

Success starts in the trenches, I've been saying this for years. Rocky loves getting HUGE linemen but they're tough to find, especially athletic ones with quick feet. With the BE/MWC conference fiasco, do we still go out and recruit big kids from other states or are we back to the Inland Empire/Bay Area? Hopefully the addition of Toledo's "connections" can alleviate the concerns. Oldie Out
