The season doesn't end after Oct. It ends after Thanksgiving weekend. If the team wins the two games in November, yes. 7-4 after November matters more than 5-4 at the end of October.

The season doesn't end after Oct. It ends after Thanksgiving weekend. Beat me to it. And the debate over firing him is pointless since he's not going to be fired regardless of what the team's record is. Also, I must disagree with another poster who seemed to diss Rocky for having quit at UNM. If you aren't getting it done and that's obvious, quit. I have great respect for that, as opposed to what Chuck Long put SDSU through. Rocky Long is a class act. That other Long is a L-O-S-E-R.

This team has some skill and i believe they will beat uh, csu and unlv (but have to admit, I'm a bit nervous). The last 2 losses really hurt, would really like to see us win one we shouldn't (nevada or bsu). AFA and wyo in the dead of winter (snow storm, 100 mph winds, who knows) could go either way. We need to find a way to win at least 7.

Yes, because he will then be 1-9 against bowl teams at SDSU

I blame him for what he left at UNM - he quit years before he resigned

Rocky went 8-4 during the regular season followed by a 23-0 victory over Nevada in the NM Bowl during his penultimate season at UNM.

BTW - didn't say we were going to lose, said they could go either way.

Rocky went 8-4 during the regular season followed by a 23-0 victory over Nevada in the NM Bowl during his penultimate season at UNM. and left that program in shambles. We can blame the incompetence of Locksley, but there was a serious dearth of talent on that roster

BE VERY CAREFULL what you wish for. SDSU could do a lot worse in the coaching department (and has).
WE need stability and better defense, thats what we are getting with Rocky.
Believe in him. He is doing a great job.

AFA stinks. They lost to UNLV two weeks ago and although they beat CSU on Saturday, they gave up 300 yards passing to CSU's backup QB after the Rams' lousy starter, Grayson, separated his shoulder after going 2-2 himself.
Since we will score often against AFA and our defense showed in the Army game it can stop the option pretty well, we aren't going to lose to the Flyboys.

The Falcon defense is not very good and we should be able to push them around to the tune of 250+ on the ground. We should be able to pass at will as well if we were to commit to it. Unless we turn the ball over a lot, not really worried about our offense in that one. On the other side of the ball this Air Force offense does not pass it (nor is a respectable threat to pass it unlike during the years with Jefferson at QB) very much this year with Connor Dietz at QB. Will do fine against the option, but will not dominate AFA like we did Army, probably will still give up about 300 or so on the ground. At home, with an above average effort we can and should win this game about 35-21. Wyoming can be another Fresno State type of scoring fest but I refuse to believe we are going to make as many mistakes/turnovers as we did Saturday again- particularly with a focused squad knowing that bowl bid may well be on the line. That, coupled with the fact that the crowd atmosphere will be nowhere near Bulldog Stadium, the Pokes being completely 1-dimensional (Brett Smith), and having a defense that rivals ours in it's sieve-like nature, I think we'll be fine and have more than a good shot there.

If we finish 7-5. Do you still want Rocky fired?

If we finish 7-5. Do you still want Rocky fired? No. You don't fire a coach with a winning record. Especially considering that we're not Michigan-esque program. The kind that can afford to fire a coach after a winning season. 7-5 is still a better record than what SDSU compiled in 2009 and the 10 seasons before that.

If we finish 7-5. Do you still want Rocky fired? That's a big "if". At least have Rocky uncross his arms and show some emotion.....

Guess I'd say that with a 7-5 record, we went through a rebuilding year. The youthfull inexperienced starters will now be seasoned vets going into 2013. With the exception of a new QB and small CBs I have to expect we'll be much better. Somehow I'm not too sure. But a lot of things can happen between now and the start of the 2013 season.
The possibility does exist though, however slight, that we could be 5-7 at the end of this season. And what that might mean foe Rocky's tenure I don't know.
