True, but then no one has seen "next years" team. All we can do is take in evaluations from what we see on this board, what we read in different media, understand our history, our recruiting as compared to our competition, including our coaching, and draw conclusions. I very well could be wrong, which I would welcome. But based on the above, my conclusion is that we are going to procede into mediocrity with the current coaching. So you not liking Rocky leadership means the team will suffer? Your opinion is just that, your opinion, not a fact. He's only been the head coach for 1 year, and they made it to a bowl game. That's far better than many other 1st year SDSU coaches. It could have been worse, much worse. I've never stated that my opinion was other than...well, opinion, just as yours is. And of course it means that if I'm right about Rocky as HC, the team will suffer. When is that not the case? And afterall that is kind of my point, yes?

This is a weak-ass schedule, I know everyone has to be a 6 year senior in Rocky's world view, but there are plenty of guys that have had significant snaps (it ain't like this team is full of true freshman) and have been in his system for 3-5 years on defense, and we're just running base pro set on offense so, again, 3-5 years. This team needs to perform this year. I will hold off any future judgement on Rocky Long until they /he don't.

These people making a call on him after one season are reDONKulous. There's no excuse for us not to be a 8+ win team this year but I'm all in until/if that doesn't happen.

In the extremely unlikely event that both Katz and Dingwell went out for the season with injuries early on, I wouldn't expect 8+ wins. The other two QBs might have potential but they are both very green. Other than that, I agree that with this schedule, there's no reason we shouldn't win eight and that's the number I think we'll win in the regular season. Gotta play the bowl game better than we did last year though.

Bernards isn't without talent and was highly regarded by Hoke's staff.

Nice to see Jimmy Miller moved to #2 behind Nasty. Brandon Wright at #2 behind Berhe shows what a great athlete he is and how quick he has learned the position. Think we'll see a final depth chart next week. Notice that true-Frosh have taken the punting and snapping positions.

You said, "you know that we'll be fortunate to finish in the middle of the pack." I look at all of the things you mentioned and see we have the potential to do better than that. You can feel free to be pessimistic but don't try to talk as if your pessimism is fact. Huh? My statement is hardly "fact". It was my opinion. Do I really need to put the word "opinion" in every statement? Seriously, isn't that what can be implied by me and inferred by you? And we're talking about FUTURE events. Are you assuming someone amoung us has FACTS on future events?

If Bernards was thrust into action, there would indeed be A LOT of handoffs to our backs.

I have a difficult time seeing us excel with a "caretaker" QB, but that may be our unfortunate predicament unless Bernards or Morin evolve rapidly.

Am I the only one who's a little concerned that McMorrow and Feer haven't been able to beat out a futbol player to be our placekicker?

Am I the only one who's a little concerned that McMorrow and Feer haven't been able to beat out a futbol player to be our placekicker? The short field goals at the scrimmage were the ONLY part of the kicking game that didn't worry me - they all had good height and power. The fact that a guy shanked 1/2 to 3/4 of his punts in warm ups and during the scrimmage and he's the punter scares the hell out of me since we all know Rocky is going to be punting.

Yeah, our punting worries me more than our placekicking. Why? We're never going to punt.

I am not getting an updated depth chart when I click the above link. I am seeing one dated 8-14-12 & it still shows Butler #1, Whittaker listed, Kottner @ #4, and no return team info. Nor injured players. Can anyone help me out? THANKS. You might be loading from cache. Try hitting the refresh button or clean out your cache.

Rocky plans to use five or six WR in a rotation where they all get about the same number of snaps. Barring one of them going ballistic and scoring like crazy who starts is meaning less. It is just the way it is on defense except croner, where I think three guys may rotate I am not sure where keels and holder are at this point. Rocky said he prefers not to use true freshman so barring injuries or crap performance you are not going to see any of them.

Saying "you know" something is going to happen is pretty matter of fact. Come on James, first, the antecedent "you know" sets up the rhetorical statement, and my "...be fortunate", makes it uncertain, therefore NOT factual, just ---here we go---an opinion. Are we done now?
