I particularly liked his comments at the end there when he mentioned equal exposure for all schools. I think he will make a great leader. Here is a piece from an article by Eamonn Brenonn about the hire and the changing landscape of college sports, and even though we all understand that geography is no longer a factor in conference affiliation, the last paragraph is revealing: This is the state of college athletics in 2012. It’s not good or bad, right or wrong. It just is. San Diego State -- San Diego State! -- is a member of a thing called the Big East, and Syracuse and Pittsburgh are not, for precisely the same reasons. And so the evolution continues.espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/62339/big-east-hire-reveals-leagues-stakes

Purely from a Television standpoint, SDSU, and Boise State, being out West, will get tons of TV slots across whatever Network it ends up being. Both usually play at night, and all of the East Coast action is in the books by then. Soooooo.... For junkies of College football, of which there are millions, SDSU will be getting plenty of new viewers.

What's everyone's take on the possibility of The Big East Network? I'm no expert on third tier rights, or televison negotiations in general, but would that be possible at this point? I know we're just healing from leaving the MTN and how crappy that turned out for everyone, but can a network dedicated to the BE fair better?
If NBC is the highest bidder, the only other outlet they currently have is NBCSN. Would that be enough for equal exposure?

Being the last live BE game on the tube during the day means we need to build viewer anticipation, not disgust. There's no question that Rocky has little slack.

And so the evolution continues. aztecmesa.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=ats&thread=18208&page=1#288878Yep. A body in motion, stays in motion. Master the possibilities. So many great things can be said today of SDSU's ACTIONS which began almost two years ago. The "Post of the Year" from the link below summed it up back then in a very selfish and funny way. Time has only made the post an even greater classic imo. A few things you could possibly add to that post today... Your hot friend (Boise St.) sends a cab to pick you up (pardon the pun) from the sausage party and bring you the place where she is. You get a ton of harsh, snooty looks when you arrive and some even physically threaten you as you make it to the fridge to get a Corona. (Lots of Corona's still in there by the way.) Not the drink of choice at this party for some reason Someone must have known you might just make it there somehow and wanted you, your hot girl (no-brainer) and a few other out-of towners feel welcome (Times Square Marquee ;D) . Then the host announces Beyonce, Madonna, Pitbull, U2 and a few more of their friends will be handling the rest of the evening's entertainment right after the first swig of Corona makes its way across your palate. Oh, then the TMZ cameras arrive with the first shot being you and hot girl having the time of your lives dancing off your asses! Yeah, today was a good day. Party on!

Found a related article regarding the Aresco hire that's got some good info - including how Bevilacqua is related to the whole CSTV/MTN thing. Interestingly, the article also includes a quote from Jeff Schemmel (cue dramatic music here) espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/62338/big-east-gets-serious-about-tv-effortsEdit - I checked the other article and found it, too, included a quote from the Schemmelinator. Good ol' Jeff - still finding a way to get around... You go, boy.

Naturally the miserable ESPN'ers had to put the TCU and UM helmets right out front.
That wasn't done on purpose, of course......

It is a huge year for Aztec Football. I am looking forward to it. I love the new commish's support of SDSU...he understands the importance of the school and believe we will have every chance to be a national power, now it sits in the hands of the coaches and players to make it happen. This could be the biggest coup in Aztec history!
