Sorry, but I don't agree with the "sausage party" analogy mentioned in the Q&A.
Seems to me the real sausage party (use your imagination on that one...) occurs if you decide to stay home (MWC) that night all together, satisfied with what is clealy an inadequate situation (MWC) vs. venturing out to the party, a bit late, but there nonetheless, and exposing yourself to the possibilities (Big East & possibly beyond).
Just my opinion.

I agree with Edward. I am pained to think what this will do to the program. Five years from now, I think our program will have inferior talent to todays team, with Viejas Arena being half full.

So what if Five years from now were three time Big west champions...with three Ncaa sweet 16 appearances...you still think fans and top recruits wouldn't come???

Just my opinion. So you are saying it's like throwing a party at your house. However, all the best looking girls leave for a better party (Utah & TCU). A really cute but uptight chick goes home (BYU) when the drinking starts up. One Super Hot lady shows up late, but leaves when she finds out the other hot chicks already left (Boise). One decent girl isn't sure if she wants to stay or leave and is on her cell phone all night (AFA). Unfortunately, you are too drunk to drive so you are left with the other hard up dudes at a dying sausage fest of a party (The MWC). Drunk and desperate you call up some uglies who didn't make the first cut to join the party (the new WAC members). Some even decide they aren't into girls at all anymore and merge with the gay party next door (Conference USA). The Hot Blonde (Boise) blows up your cell and wants you to meet her at a new party. May get broken up soon...what do you do?

So you think we can't win the big west year in and year out? ....you think the talent that we have coming in in the next two years will just leave and wouldn't be replace eventho Steve fisher would still be here???....what are you seeing that im not???

Dtay,
Sure, we will be fine the next few years. But after that we will slowly fade into obscurity and become a "Big West" team talent wise. The arena will be half full, and we will all long for the glory years of 2010-2012.

In regards to Jabari Brown, his history of moving around is a potential issue, but I think ASR put too much focus on Shrigley. In my opinion, SDSU is probably more concerned with 5-star recruit Isaac Hamilton, because he has a little brother that is really good and, more importantly, is good friends with Norvel Pelle.
You bring in Jabari and it decreases your chances with all three of those other guys. IN particular, the Hamilton brothers seem like they are good kids without the baggage.

Fanhood
So you think that kids will see the best team in California, consistenty sale out its arena and consistenty go to the NCAA tournament and Consistently win games and say " yeah they're winning but i don't wanna go there because i don't wanna play cal poly every year!!!!"
Im very interested to here your opinion on why you think that.

This will likely coincide with Steve Fisher deciding to retire. He may not come out in public and say this, but I doubt he is very thrilled about taking his program that he has taken over a decade to build and moving it into a lowly league. It would make me retire. Recruiting will drop as players from LA decide that they would rather play for a major league like the PAC 12 than a lowly league like the Big West.

So even if were winning and even if were going to the big dance every year...you still think kids would erase all of that success just because of 8 or so road games? ....People come to watch san Diego state play basketball because of SAN DIEGO STATE!!!!....not because Wyoming is in town...Our top recruits come because our style of play, the crowd and because Steve Fisher is a legendary coach....Not Bcuz they get to play UNLV two or three times a year. I think you guys are totally under estimating the program Steve Fisher has build here

Someone remind me to vote this Post of the Year for 2010.

It's too bad nobody was in the stands to see the games against Long Beach, UCSB, or Davis, but it's understandable that they are just waiting for the big showdown with Air Force before they get excited. Bryant Boise St. California Chicago St. Creighton Elon Long Beach St. Redlands San Diego Christ. Southern Utah UC Davis UC Riverside USC Air Force Colorado St. New Mexico TCU UNLV Wyoming It's funny that you always mention that kids would rather play for a league like the Pac-12 than the Big West. Is the Pac-12 an option?

Hate to break it to you but in general kids would rather play in the Pac 12 than the MWC
