SC QB. Has some academic issues, so will be transferring somewhere. He would've been in the mix for the job next year. He has a cannon for an arm.
He'd be great for SDSU, unlike the recent transfer.

Florida, Tennessee, USC, LSU, Nebraska all recruited him out of HS... If he can academically can get his head on straight, staying in SoCal may be an option for him. Could the Mesa be an option?

If he doesn't qualify at SC, neither will he qualify at SDSU. We don't need people who will only drag down our APR when they have to drop out or transfer.

We should have an xxellent shot if we want him. Agreed considering Kiffin and Ludwig are buds and we run a pro style offense. In addition, M.Ambles, former hs all american and trojan wr now at a AZ jc, might want to join his former buddy at state. Ambles was a headcase but if he's straightened out, def worth a shot. He'd probably be SC's 3rd wr this yr, which is saying alot since the 2 ahead of him are already all-americans.

He cant transfer to another PAC-12 team without sitting out two years, we will be in the Big East when he's eligible, we are close to current location and his family, our last two qb's have gotten drafted, he has a former teammate at WR that just transferred here, he'll only have two years left so he'll probably only go to a school where he will have a great chance at getting the starting job immediately, Katz will be gone next year so there wont be an incumbent QB and he'd likely be competing with Dingwell and Jeffries and we recruited him out of high school. If Rocky wants him and he can get his BRE adds in order we have a great shot.

He was the shiz at Lakewood. He actually led them to a rare (since the 70s) win vs. Long Beach Poly.

"Scroggins has good size for a quarterback and a cannon for an arm along with strength and quickness - but his current grades and inconsistencies with the offense dropped him back."
He has the tools but still needs to mature, IMHO. A better environment to stabilize his grades and Ludwig's affinity with developing QBs could be the key.

QB Jesse Scroggins will transfer from USC. He is academically eligible after "a strong spring semester in the classroom," Lane Kiffin said.
