Did anyone catch his "best 15 minutes" this afternoon. He stated that Dillon Baxter got caught smoking a J around 3am this morning. Anyone else here about this? If true, considering the source, good thing he went to USC

LA Times reported Dillon was identified as "under the influence of a controlled substance"

Also stated Perry Jackson not admitted to SDSU because of a records/paperwork foul up at the JC. That's two JCs not admitted because their school loused up the paperwork. Is SDSU not communicating to these schools what is required or are these schools that incompetent? In Jackson's case he was here for spring camp. What happened between then and now?

Anyone know how to contact Lee and tell him his best 15 minutes contains erroneous info(surprise)re Perry Jackson? Keeps saying Jackson wasn't admitted to school because of a transcript error when it was actually Deonte Williams.

When Kiffin compares him to Bush, he may be more right than he may wish.

Character is so important, and so hard to gage in a 17/18 year old high school athlete. Marijuana at that age has a tremendous impact on maturity and decision making. Starting a recruiting flap and then ending up smoking weed in Fall camp is consistent. Also hate seeing this kind of speculation as we really don't know. Then again, here I am commenting on it and adding fuel to the fire. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

It was my understanding that Jackson enrolled for the spring semester. The transcript problem was not the fault of the player or SDSU. Strictly Sierra JC> Anyone know how to contact Lee and tell him his best 15 minutes contains erroneous info(surprise)re Perry Jackson? SDSU should be working in conjunction with Sierra or whatever JC it may be, letting them know EXACTLY what needs to be taken care of. SDSU should be working in conjunction with Sierra or whatever JC it may be, letting them know EXACTLY what needs to be taken care of. Take the word of someone who has been there - things get lost in the shuffle. I applied to SDSU for the fall of '70. Unfortunately at the end of the spring semester at City College I had 59 units and they did not allow summer school to count. So they went back to my HS transcripts and those were so bad there was no way I could get in. So I had to do a 5th semester at City (and faced the draft because of it due to them claiming I wasn't "advancing" my degree). So it came down to winter break. Sometime in January, '71 I hadn't heard anything so I called the admissions office. Got told that somehow they'd neglected to send me my letter of acceptance, would do so immediately and, OBTW, I would be registering the last hour of the last day (incoming JC transfers were given the same priority of incoming freshmen then). Registered for 3 graduate seminars and an upper division class I didn't have the pre-reqs for, all in archaeology - registration was very loose back then. To make a short story long - SDSU is a desirable destination for a ton of students, even if it was back in the "old days", and screw-ups happen. I don't condone it at all, given that if I hadn't made the call I would have been screwed, but I do understand the fact that with large numbers come a certain amount of screw-ups and it's not just this or that athlete who is affected by them. =Bob

Baxter is from T-town, it's ridiculous to expect him to just up & stop smoking herb.

Has there been any verification re Jackson other than Hacksaw? Have not seen or heard any confirmation of his story. Transferring credits from a JC is and always has been a real struggle. This is not new or confined to athletes. JC advice and paperwork has long been a problem. I wonder also if it has gotten to the point that SDSU has to hire specially skilled counselors to get the few scholarship athletes annually into school. It would be interesting to hear from someone in the know. As to the beach and grass, yes it has been seen around here. Doesn't alter the fact however that 18 year olds have not physically completed brain growth and that weed sets teenage maturity back by years in noticeable ways. Just sad to see it when it happens, not trying to be evangelical. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

So hold on. We're in the first week of practice, haven't had any injuries, and are down 3 players? All from transcript issues? That's ridiculous! Williams, Jackson, Garrett. Man, I hope there are no more.
