Brent Scrotenberg is a man on a mission... It seems he has devoted his life to bringing out only the negative when it comes to sports, especially pertaining to SDSU Athletics.. I've read countless and tasteless articles from Scrotumberg about SDSU failings, shortcomings, deficits, underacheivements, etc.... How long will this go on for? Does anyone know if he got cut from his Hs football team? Does anyone know if his Hs sweetheart dumped him for an athlete? I have no problem with the content of his writings nor the facts of his work, but his tone and pessimistic style about SDSU is childish and immature.. The constant nagging, whining, complaining, comments about SDSU Athletics shouldn't be tolerated by any true Aztec.. Don Coryell, Herm Edwards, Sean Payton, Claude Gilbert, etc their legacies, their hard work deserve better than this sack!!

Well we found $90,000 last week. We need all get behind the team and push hard to get people involved. I don't know how we can get ahead. It kills me that Utah made it big time.
Just look at what we have to over come.
I will get on any ones case who does this to us on this Board.
We need to be supportive. We don't need to pile on these kids and coaches. It just makes it harder. We became big time because all the recruits we need are right here in Calif. if we can take them away from some of the Pac 10 teams.
I thougth we could recruit well out of State if we had Money. Now you know why Hoke has not been bring in med west kids. I am sure he has the contacts, and that is why he has been working so hard in Calif.
We need millions plus winning.

It sucks that Brent S has made this program run a huge deficit, never win a bowl game of tourney game, get 20k or so to actually go to a football game etc - what a dick.

The UT is garbage when it comes to Aztec coverage. I don't necessarily mind an article every now an then about the problems with the program - it's mostly the truth after all. However, the coverage of the actual team and its players is pathetic. Most hometown papers have a couple articles a week about the progress of the players, team activities, recruiting success, updates on the coaching staff etc. You get one of those every couple months with the UT, but endless articles about the financial problems.

Twitter and Digg.com give me the news I need to see.
Hell, TV News gets their stories from the same sources and it's usually over 48 hours old (unless it's local or breaking).

Do not concur. I found his most recent article on scholarships to be straightforward and newsworthy. Unfortunately, I do not enjoy bad news either and there is a lot of bad news associated with any agency dependent upon the state budget and the local economy. I was, however, interested in the possible option of cutting out of state recruiting and the fact that the dept is looking into the concept. I found it newsworthy. BS sometimes is overboard and I have criticized him in the past and will do so in the future. But, I cannot automatically dismiss him. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

Well when somebody read the negative UT article last week about the deficit a donor responded by giving the AD money to give two tennis coaches their jobs back. If the UT had kept the bad finances a secret from the public then nobody might have done anything about it. Maybe the UT should have keep SDSU's financial considerations a secret so nobody can know what they might cut next but I am still upset at the UT for chasing away the former AD. Who cares if that AD went on a date with another lady out of town.

Still, I don't much care about that either. However, I DO care - a lot - that he completely bungled the most important hire of his tenure and that when it was apparent to all of us that he had done so, he nevertheless assured the guy would return for a fourth year, thereby opening the door for SteveAztec to argue - ad nauseuem - that the guy got the shaft.

To tell you the truth even that story turned out well. I really like Sterk. He seems to be doing a good job in comparison.

Bang any flooze you want, just don't charge it to your expense account.

I like Brent. He is a great reporter. He digs and finds things that are relevant. You may not like the content of his articles because you have a psychological bias, but don't shoot the messenger.
