Isn't he from a JC? I thought JC's have those TAG agreements where after you do the classes you automatically transfer in? At least thats how mine was coming from Mesa. Oh well It's ok that he didn't qualify. We don't want him. If you can't qualify coming out of a JC, you really are a dumb $#!+. And I thought my comment about that new running back's taste in music was harsh. I felt a little guilty. After reading your comment I feel better. Thanks.

Oh, I have faith.....BUT... I stopped questioning Unga and the other JC's because you came on multiple times saying not to worry. After a while I assumed that you really did know. Oh well.....One player does not make a team. Yah i assumed that I knew too. But things happen. I was basing it off of them being here on campus. but things can still happen when they are already here. and yah i am STILL telling you not to worry. Because you really shouldnt. Unga and this other guy wouldnt have made a huge impact anyways. One side comment Alumn.....A friend of mine who knows Rocky Long fairly well called me a while ago (tonight). In conversation I asked him about Unga. He said that Rocky Long thought Unga was going to be a tough OLineman and was looking forward to his contributions immediately. Don't shoot the messenger....I'm just relaying what I heard....Apparently from Rocky Longs mouth.

But I think another tackle can fill in pretty well. Getting unga would have been great, but losing him doesnt hurt the team too much.

Which means he isnt a big loss, if any at all.

It's a big loss. We need linemen. despite arguments from Long's sole defender, we are still weak on linemen four years after Long assumed his position as Destroyer in Chief.
But really. If the kid's mind was on football he would have passed his JC classes.

With Long's apparent focus on smash-mouth football, I never thought linemen wouldn't be our concern in 2010. Long was hired in December 2005.

It takes Olineman longer to be ready. This is not something new......It has been known from the beginning of time (or at least the 60's).

Bottom line here, it's a blow to our hopes for improved lineplay. He was one of the variables that was going to hopefully result in a better OL this year. He's out. Thus, we now have fewer factors that will lead us to an average OL. We have to rely more on hoped for improvement from linemen we have on hand. And, remember it is the linemen on hand that led many of us to hope we could get JC help. Progress from strength, conditioning and experience is now the mainstay of our hope for improvement at the slot Unga was to fill. In a sense nothing has really changed as there were a multitude of factors bearing on improvement this year which have been debated at great length. As I see it, it just takes an arrow out of the quiver, so the other ones have to fly straighter and hit target more consistently. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

Looks like we'll be running on the right side more often, opposite where Unga should have been.

If Bolanos and Gauld can come in and claim their respective positions (assuming thats left guard and right tackle), than the only position of concern, IMO, is left tackle. I would hope that at least one current member of the team can play left tackle at an acceptable level and our line will be just fine. So says the optimist in me!
