We've evidently lost three recruits, one to injury. There'll be losses but there usually a walkon or two who surprise. Can't wait for August 10! I don't think we've lost the injured one, he'll just for sure redshirt.

A Polynesian, offensive lineman, jc recruit. Season's pretty much over for us now. We lack the islanders to get it done.

Isn't he from a JC? I thought JC's have those TAG agreements where after you do the classes you automatically transfer in? At least thats how mine was coming from Mesa. Oh well

Actually it would have been nice to have him but the silver lining is that if he couldn't get in then he would stand a high probability of becoming an academic casualty and hurting our APR. I hope the guy gets the message and is able to gain admittance elsewhere and focus on his education and become successful in his future endeavors.

We needed this guy. Let's hope this doesn't hurt our depth. Here's his Rivals bio: rivals.yahoo.com/sandiegostate/football/recruiting/player-Joe-Unga-99038;_ylt=Arx4HQoYpxGsaYkb0.OnPecXtpB4Check his size and the Pac-10 schools which contacted him and considering that nobody offered him a schollie until we did AFTER Ricky Seale went to Stanford on the night before LOI signing day and if you can put 2+2 together, you can see that he was always academically marginal. As fowl said, better to have him not qualify at all that to flunk out and hurt our APR. I wish the young man well in the future but he probably needs to try to get into a DIAA school with modest academic requirements. As to Waddell, I wish him future success too but I don't think we will miss him at all.

We were his only D1 offer from what I can tell. We gambled and it didn't pay off. It happens, now move on and get someone better.

Where is the poster that said we were all crazy for thinking all the JC were not a done deal yet?
If I remember correctly, he chastised us multiple times for NOT taking his word that ALL JC players were in school academically and to quit worrying?

I told you all not to worry. and you still shouldnt. Unga wouldnt have made a huge impact. would of been nice to have him. However, he isnt a big loss. He is very easily replaced. And also, Im the one that weeks before he was officially ineligible hinted that he wasnt going to join the team.

It makes me wonder about a couple of the others. Reminder to all......JC players are a big risk for multiple reasons. I hope all the others are in and stay in. But we should all be prepared for departures because recruiting JC players is a crap shoot.

But his scholly I believe was the one for the dude that went to Stanford, so the risk was he makes it in or he doesn't, but didn't really cost us a slot. 2/3 o lineman, a running back and defensive end (unless I'm missing any), looks like a good roll on the craps table, 4 rolls before we crapped out.

I stopped questioning Unga and the other JC's because you came on multiple times saying not to worry. After a while I assumed that you really did know. Oh well.....One player does not make a team.

We now have 1 or 2 schollies available and he's suddenly back on the market, and If we can land him, it's for 4 years!
