i hope so and hope to chat with him soon. i agree he needs more structure as they are just high school grads with all the new freedoms of college and need the structure. it would be a step in the right direction but am ambivalent as far as how he will receive it. I think your ambivalence suggest that you KNOW how he will receive it!! Not really. my ambivalence is from my son is on the team and i dont want to jeapardize anything for him. i will have a chance to say something early this fall and will express my thoughts at that time.

And lets be Honest, some of those kids didnt really "fit" the baseball program needs either.. This is to me the biggest part of the recruiting process, finding the kids that fit into the program and not just talent alone.

Agree CV. You look at the kids who are successful in college sports and a majority are B+ students or higher. They have their stuff together!
It is very tough to recruit, because you do need a good fit.
When the staff spoke to my son they told him that "we have already check your grades and they are good. Keep doing what you are doing. You would not be here today if your grades are poor."

I bet soutbaycracker is the only white dude on the San Isidro Hihg Varsity team... Whoever it was who was offended by this... I apologize! Firstly, this was meant to make fun of SouthbayCracker. Have you read any of his post? Secondly, I've seen San Isidro play several times and let me tell you the only English word they say are Strike and out. I'm not making fun of them at all, just stating facts. Again, I am so sorry. PM me next time instead of telling on me. We are all adults, right?

The facts you allude to doesnt mask the ugliness/nastiness that's within you that comes out on these post. I'm not making fun of them at all, just stating facts. I am sure we are all adults, but some of us dont act like it all of the time . Its okay to disagree without using sophomoric venom to support / add to your point. Its Aztec sports man. Not the Bill Maher or Howard Stern show.

I love the energy those Spanish-speaking kids bring to the game, always chattering. They play hard, have fun, love the game, and while they bring intensity and games can get heated, they demonstrate good sportsmanship and respect for their opponents.

Whether or not they are truly intended to be racist is not the issue, the issue is how the statements appear - perception is reality.

Got a chance to see 3 of our new recruits this weekend playing locally in a travel ball tourny.
tommy Mancuso- seems a little on the small side but can hit very well. did not see him play in the field.
cody slater- played a really good shortstop- tall lean and a switch hitter- looks good
kyle hayes- most impressive of the 3 size wise. big kid strong kid with some tools. saw some action @ 3rd and looked ok. will probably be mostly a pitcher.
cv out

You guys are harsh -- but I don't know the poster so I don't know that harsh isn't warranted.
Still the question is a good one for every sport in every school -- why should a recruit pick you. Rather than an insult (generally) I would take it as an opportunity to make an appeal to any recruits that might wander bye.
Yoda out...
