A big question for me is how well Hillman can run between the tackles. I don't know if he has the size/strength to be an every down back. That was my question as well. Can Hillman's body take the pounding that occurs between the tackles?

For sure a worry, I think this is as big an issue as the run blocking, we weren't physical enough either up front or with the back between the tackles. Hopefully a stronger more experienced sullivan at FB as well as some of the possibilities at fb/h-back we can run some in themiddle.

Okay, assuming they take care of business in the classroom and stay out of any coaches doghouse - how you going to use Hillman and Ruffin? Ruffin: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vMb03dwSXAWow. Ruffin is a big dude with a fluid stride. Give him a few steps and he can really accelerate. I don't see Ruffin isn't listed on the depth chart. Redshirt?

Have absolutely no idea about a RS year, but man he looks like he brings some skills to the table. These next few weeks should be interesting. I hope I am able to take in a practice or two if my schedule permits.

When practice starts in a few days, the Oline is going to be driven very hard by the coaches. So much depends on them.

That was my question as well. Can Hillman's body take the pounding that occurs between the tackles? I think too many are overlooking Kazee. He got invaluable experience as a true frosh and knew what he had to do to prep for this year. I'm sure he's ready to take on the pounding after working with Wellman for another year. Hillman might be faster or more elusive, but has yet to go through what he did. I think Kazee gets more snaps.

I like Kazee a lot, but germane to this recent topic, not sure he'll ever be a big contributor between the guards; he is a good sweep runner. Anyways, I totally agree his experience and the way he was playing his best at the end of the year portends to him t be a sizable part of the offense the next 3 years, me thinks. One thing I am interested to see out of soph Kazee and Hillman is pass blocking and catching the ball ability, that will go a long way towards who gets the most snaps/carries/touches.

I can only answer for myself and only from looking at video. Hillman, Ruffin and Garrett all look like potential home run hitters. Whitaker, OTOH, looks like primarily a possession receiver. I thought the plan was to use Whittaker at CB? Whittaker blew out his knee this summer, and is out for this season.

I really like Kazee as well. Size issue not withstanding, he runs hard and keeps his legs moving. He doesn't go down easily at first hit even when running between tackles.

But, you have to like the many options available to Coach Borges at this stage. It will be like showing up at a gun fight with a gatling gun rather than just a pistol! ;D Go Aztecs!!!

Has anyone had a chance to see much of the incoming frosh RB group?

I hate emptying the backfield. You have to have a wonderful O line, because those D linemen lower their ears and come like crazy. Hang in there, Matt
