I remember a topic last year on our PA guy. Some don't like him.
I think he adds a lot to the game experience and love the guy.
Like when he announces the starting lineup and ends up with....
D..........J.........GAY!!!!!

We have one of the great PA guys. I really like him. He adds a lot of excitement. Remember when we had a substitute and he yelled "nothing but net" for the opposing team? People were not happy.

My Favorite is the punctuated D J Gay for threeeeeeeeeeee
He's an exciting home team announcer. the dry announcer like Lawerence Tanner works for the Lakers, but college, trying to create a raucous environment dude is perfect. When billy hammers down a dunk or DJ hits a dagger three and you're jumping up and down and the crowd is going crazy and you hear that it gets you more jacked up and keeps the crowd going either into a defensive play or a forced timeout

The Viejas announcer is bush, pure and simple. Some enthusiasm for the home guys is appropriate. When the enthusiasm goes too far, however, it just makes us sound small time. What I am talking about is related to the old saying, "Act like you've been there before!" I just cringe when I hear the guy. Seriously.  AzWm |

Basketball is full of enthusiasm and emotion. You can never have too much of that. It's what makes this game exciting to watch. You take that away, you'll have a lousy atmosphere. Might as well watch golf.  Oldie Out |

He gets the crowd hyped. It's one of the reasons I love going to the games. Especially the sellouts. Sure I go home with a headache after but, it's well worth it when the Aztecs win. I was at that Saint Mary's game and the crowd was deafening all game long and it was beautiful. |

The game should sell itself without the unabashed hype. I guess it plays to the player's collective egos, but it is VERY cheezy. JMO

Man I can't understand that statement, about him being bush.... I guess you would like to return to the days of playing in front of no one at Peterson Gym? Ego or not, these games are played with emotion, to act like you have been there before is fine... But to act like you have never ,is even better. To me it keeps you hungry.

I don't get the bush league comment, I think the PA guy is great and wouldn't want it any other way. Finally someone who is just excited as I am during the game.
Best PA guy ever though was Chet.....
