I don't get the bush league comment, I think the PA guy is great and wouldn't want it any other way. Finally someone who is just excited as I am during the game. Best PA guy ever though was Chet..... Ladies...Aztecs Gentlemen...Touchdown the enthusiasm of the crowd needs to catch up to the PA guy. When the place is rock'n, .. you barely hear the announcer over the crowd.

I like the guy but can understand that some may think him over-the-top. It's seem to me like it's a which is the best tasting food, chile verde or menudo. There is no right answer, just a matter of personal taste.

Man I can't understand that statement, about him being bush.... I guess you would like to return to the days of playing in front of no one at Peterson Gym? Ego or not, these games are played with emotion, to act like you have been there before is fine... But to act like you have never ,is even better. To me it keeps you hungry. What has this clown got to do with wins and losses? If most of the so called fans weren't sitting on their hands maybe I wouldn't have to hear him.

I was a season ticket holder in the Big Ten for many years and heard many of the Big 10 game announcers. Our guy is as good as any of the announcers that I have heard.

He's a bit shrill for my tastes...but maybe that's more the sound board settings than him. He's alright...

The game should sell itself without the unabashed hype. I guess it plays to the player's collective egos, but it is VERY cheezy. JMO I like Cheese..especially melted cheese.

The Viejas announcer is bush, pure and simple. Some enthusiasm for the home guys is appropriate. When the enthusiasm goes too far, however, it just makes us sound small time. What I am talking about is related to the old saying, "Act like you've been there before!" I just cringe when I hear the guy. Seriously. AzWm You. Are. Old Yes. I. Am. AzWm

I want to find the clip where I think it was Fran Fraschilla says.."This is one of the loudest crowds I've ever heard" or something to that effect.

He has flair and style - but he's not cheerleading. He just makes the game more fun - and I'd be willing to bet that the players get pumped up when they hear that stuff. (And if you didn't get that Francis reference, well, then you just don't know about a certain wanna be psycho or our new best buddy and big toe...)

I'm guessing you're taling about the St Mary's NIT quarters I had trouble getting out of work and got stuck in traffic, so i got into my seat about 5 minutes into the game, but I could hear the crowd rocking, and the PA Dude calling out the 3s while I was walking up, people were getting jacked-up in the line to get in and walk up

The best atmosphere I have ever experienced. I have been to the Padres NLCS in 1998, been to a couple of Chargers playoff games... that game against St Marys was every bit as electric, if not more. The PA guy had a little bit to do with that, especially on that Richie to BW play. Once in a while I feel like he can tone it down just a notch, but overall, the guy helps make the atmosphere special. That's the one positive about being in the NIT I suppose, getting to host do or die games. Remember when they showed Faulk on the big screen during halftime and the crowd went nuts?

I missed the first 5 minutes as well.
