This would be a huge road win. I've heard they will start the season top 10. They have 4 returning starters. I'm excited.

We get one good opponent, but what a silly tournament, so we're going to get 2 of Bucknell, UW Green Bay, Miami of Ohio, Presbyterian, IUPUI, James Madison Princeton and have lots of travel. We better be getting a nice hearty paycheck for this. Big opportunity against Gonzaga, but not happy about being grouped with those other lower tier schools.

I am very happy with this tourney. We have a tough enough schedule (after adding Gonzaga) as it is.
Early tourney. Big road game against a national name and two other tourney games.
The game plan would be to put the Aztecs in the Top 20 or higher by going 3-0.
If we 2-1, we are still ok.
1-2 would be a disaster.

Traveling to Ohio to play 3 sub par teams to get one seems like a tough trade to make, but, it is a wonderful opportunity ---- (are these early round games going to be televised? If we don't even get Gonzaga on ESPN I'm concerned with this). |

For SDSU it is not a tournament at all ... however we do play at Gonzaga the same day that Duke plays Miami (Ohio). It would be great if both games were nationally televised as a double-header.
Either way this is arguably the toughest game on our schedule and they will present matchup problems at every position, and will likely start 2 - 7 footers.
Fantastic game and props to the staff for getting it done.

A few of the other teams are actually pretty good.... or pretty decent at least...
Last year, Green Bay went 22-13, IUPUI went 25-11 and Princeton 22-9 and their motion offense will really test our teams discipline. And the other 3 teams finished around .500 but they all return almost every player from last years teams. It's a great opportunity to be seen on the east coast and get a few road wins far, far away from from home.
at Gonzaga, at Arizona, at Cal, St Marys, Wichita St, etc ... this is the toughest ooc we have ever had, by far.

From Zags msg board - pretty humorous. At least he knows they should be nervous, but 30 secs of research could have solidified his position.
"Seeing this early pair of games, IUPUI ( or Ee-oo-poo-ee, if you want to sound Hawaiian) doesn't frighten me much...but The Aztecs were solid last year. Does San Diego State return many guys? Just curious, because if they weren't a 20-win team last year, they were close to it. Makes a guy just a tad nervous."

I heard Coach Fisher speak recently and said something about having (approx) 7 road games in a row. He didn't specify true road games or nuetral sites. This must be the stretch he is talking about. |

We are going to have to be well prepared and ready for this year or what happened to Beth and Company might happen; on the other hand, it is a hell of an opportunity to compile a fantastic resume. This team will be battled tested. |

We will either solidify our top 25 ranking and probably stay there all year ... or we will drop out after the 1st week? But we will definitely be battle tested by the end of the year ... actually by the end of week 2. |
