I believe all first rounders get guaranteed money.
Of course remember with that list. It doesn't have any European players or high school players on it.

believe 3 of the top 10 are from countries outside the US, and the high school guys have to play at least a year of college or abroad. Forcing the guys to play 1 year of college is a joke, look at the UK situation , OJ MAYO or J Tyler.

If Leonard progresses as expected and doesn't get hurt, he is a lock for the first round. The question will be if he moves up in the Lottery and thinks that is enought. I think there is an 80% chance he leaves after this season.

There were also a number of projected 1st rounders that had "guarantees" from teams, who dropped to the 2nd round, which is the difference from a guaranteed multi-million dollar contract to ... 0 guaranteed dollars. There were also a lot of underclassmen who declared who were not drafted at all, and are now looking at the D league or Europe and might never get there degrees. Especially with a pending lockout in 2011, why take the risk. I wonder if Hobson wishes he came back for his senior year now? Wasn't Slaughter a projected late 1st rounder a few years ago after averaging 17 pts and 11 rbs per game his junior year? espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=15639

The difference between 1 and 2 round is huge. If you are borderline you need to staty one more year. In fact I hear its better to not get drafted in the 2nd round at all, sou you have the option to pick which team you want to try out for. Similar to being a 7th round NFL draft pick.
Kawhi will have his chance this year, but the year after his (jr year) I believe he will be the man on this team and be able to rotate and play 3 or 4 different posistions.

San Diego State has a chance to make history in 2011 NBA Draft!
Leonard, Thomas and White are potential NBA picks in 2011. How ever, SDSU must have a great season, make a deep run into the NCAA's and each player take his game to the next level!
Thomas has to face up, make 15-18 foot jumper and improve his free-throw shooting; Likewise, White has to face up, make 15-18 foot jumper, improve his rebouding and use right hand. White could also, concentrate on becoming a lock down defender, which would increase his chances for the next level. Leonard must improve his outside shot, ball-handling and again, lead the MWC in rebounding.
Each player is athlectic, long and can play multiple positions on the Court. SDSU's WL record, rankings and NCAA Tournament performance determines whether or not Thomas, White and Leonard get drafted. I beleive all three players are on the NBA radar, but SDSU must win and win big! Next year's Non-Conf. Schedule is shaping up as a tough one for the Aztecs. Arizona, St. Mary's, WS, LBS, St. Mary's, Cal and rumored, Gonzaga (ESPN) are no cupcake games!

While a jumper would be great for Thomas' game, I'd be happy to see a little more variety in his low block game, he has some great quick moves, I'd like to see him show a whole aresnal back there, of course that means teams need an incentive not to quickly double him (3 point shooters )

Ball handling and perimeter shooting. If I were Leonard, I would take two years to work on both and be guaranteed a high first round pick.

Look at Hobson, he's in the second round and that is far from a guarantee of even ever getting a cup of coffee - if you can improve your stock, you almost always should come back in bball. Two more years and with is work ethic I think a lottery pick could be likely, if you're in that 20s range, you never know which players teams like, which overseas players teams late in the first round want to stockpile so they don't have to pay someone, etc.

Yup, totally agreeing with you - he could get a fatty deal and a position on the court in 2 years, or he could hope he does well in Summer League. My read on Lenoard and his family is they have their heads on their shoulders - they aren't coming out under speculation of a 25 spot if the draft falls their way.
