Sounds like a good get, an athletic tackle that will need to put on some more strength

Sounds like a good get, an athletic tackle that will need to put on some more weight And strength Exactly. I don't care if he weighs 285 or 315, as long as he's in "football shape."

Kyle Turley was smaller than this guy when we first recruited him. I wouldn't worry about his weight. Oldie Out

Wow 5 commits before July, 3 of which are 3 star players, all of which durring all the re-alignment crap, not a bad start for Hoke.

The Inland Empire kids are tough. A lot of good football programs there. Nice to see some line recruits this early as well. Go Aztecs

yeah, what I meant, I don't want someone putting on 15 pounds of fat Agree. I'd rather have a guy that can move well over just a big dude as lineman and particularly say a tackle in pass pro have to block a guy like a Jerry Hughes or some other phenomenal athlete in space - his max bench is not where it needs to be was my point - maybe dude squats his ass off, or he has far outstripped that or will add to it big time this year, that was my point

Overall GPA = 3.24 Core Academic GPA = 3.08 SAT = June 2010 NCAA Eligibility Center Core Course: Completed/Currently enrolled in 13 O- linemen are usually the smartest and brainiest guys on the team (I blame it on the carbs). This kid is no exception. Oldie Out

Wouldn't be surprised if the weight given is a junior yr or spring weight. He could report to camp a year hence at 265-280.

I can't get the video to play, but assume this kid is the real deal. You can recruit all the RBs, DBs and even WRs you want, but until we commit and then SIGN kids like this (assuming he is legit) we are just kidding ourselves about moving up. I look forward to seeing more about him. Need some DLs of similar quality too.

A 4.9 is very fast for a lineman. With that type of speed I'm sure they will keep him at Tackle as long as he is able to keep his speed and quickness as he gains weight.

A couple of thoughts - First his strength (or lack thereof) isn't a big issue. The guy is 16-17 years old and over two years away from even remotely being able to get on the field for us. Kids at that age can gain strength and size rapidly given their high testosterone levels and given the correct training regimen.
Second, with "decent" speed for an OL if he doesn't pan out there he might be able to be moved to NT.
What I would rather find out is this: Is this guy mean when he is on the field? Does he have an attitude? That is what I want from an OL prospect. They can have all of the measured tangibles, but if they don't have that temper/attitude on the field all of the speed and strength in the world will be wasted.
