Dude can play. I dig his game.
We'll see a lot more of him this year down the stretch and in the Tourney.

Really, he's going to help out this season. He's VERY quick on his feet. Also, he's not making stupid plays. It's really obvious that he listens to the coaches. His shooting fundamentals are much better than at the start of the season.

Nice looking 3 point shot tonight. Anyone else notice he has springs for legs and lives above the rim? He just jumps through the roof.

Yeah, but that collision with Brian Carlwell looked brutal! I still can not figure why they called Carlwell for a foul on that play, it looked like he and Jamaal just hit each other.

He is the real deal. In all honesty, I believe he could be a starter and we would still be 24-1. Kid is all out, all the time. I love it!

On the postgame interview he credited Coach Al Schaeffer for helping him with his shooting...Coach Al is a volunteer who is excellent with basketball fundamentals...Fish knew him from Michigan, where he happens to be in the Hi School coaching Hall of Fame... and coached a few years here at Ramona Hi....he has helped the guys with their technique on foul shots and i know JFranklin will be coached up by Al with his shooting.....It still needs some fine tuning, but it is much better than before IMO

I'll tell ya what: Initially, I really didn't know what to think about this kid. Wasn't sure what he'd turn out to be. But now I'm convinced that this guy will be one helluva player for our Aztecs in the years to come. He's a lot of fun to watch out there lately! Awesome effort, high motor, the kid's a terrific athlete, and he can REALLY play basketball!
The only question in my mind is where does he fit in? I think you're probably gonna have to find a place in the starting lineup next year for him, but that'll mean going to a 3 guard lineup (and a rather small lineup). Tapley's a starter for certain; Rahon has earned a spot as a starter in my estimation (next year, of course); that leaves Jamaal and LBF, and right now I think Jamaal is the better player.......although LBF is the better point guard.

Great quote from post game interview with Fish who said Jamal play "like his hair is on fire". Dudes motor runs non stop.

Hair on fire is a perfect way to describe his play. I would add "smart" and "purposeful" to the way he moves on the court. He heads to the hole (or is above it) on every shot. Hearing his interview on postgame he seems like a very coachable, confident, intelligent young man. It looks to me like he's destined for greatness in Viejas. And so goddam fun to watch...

Just watched LBF "intensionally miss" his little shot WAY UP on the backboard in order to "feed" JF. Awesome. Do any of you students know if they room together?
