From the title looks like SDSU turned him down, not vice-versa

Hope he shows up at a 1AA school other than Montana. The Griz don't need a problem child.

From the title looks like SDSU turned him down, not vice-versa The article says the staff is satisfied with what they have, plus Jeffries. I think that's a testament to what they think of Jeffries more than anything. Also says Bernards will be the #2 guy entering spring camp but with a new OC coming in, that's subject to change. The odd thing to me is it still lists Morrison among the contenders to succeed Lindley. I expected that by this time they would be thinking of moving him to TE. (AlumniAztec can chime in if I'm off base on that.)

What a shame it would be to have a QB controversy.

Amen, love how the coaches are showing Jeffries and company the respect they deserve. Send the head case to another school.

What happened to all the people on this board that wanted to build a fence around San Diego. He's a local product and alot of people were pissed off at the previous staff for not offering him a scholarship. Now people have a change of heart.. Cricket... Cricket....

He's a guy that I'd personally cut a hole in said fence to let out. Sometimes you're better off not geyying what you want "You can't always get what you want, but you just might find you get what you need.."

I would have been okay with him if Rocky Long was interested. Obviously Rocky wasn't interested, so probaby a good thing he is moving on somewhere else.
However, this Bryce Jones basketball player dude seems to have even more character issues than Tate. The guy broke his teammates nose and beat-up an RA. Not sure we want to introduce that type of element to our hoops team either. Although, Fisher has always seemed willing to take chances on these types of guys.

You must not know anything about the WACKO Forcier family cult. Click this link, scroll down and read what they have to say about themselves. If this doesn't get you to understand why the Aztecs wouldn't want to have anything to do with them... www.qbforce.com/NEW2009/home.html

(AlumniAztec can chime in if I'm off base on that.) I don't have a subscription but are are they really saying that the qb spot is up for grabs? At this point I think it's pretty clear Lindley is a lock to start in 2011. If they are saying there's a chance for Bernards to beat him out it sounds like happy talk. No, nor did SGF infer that. Shanahan stated that going into spring ball the back-up quarterback slot appears to be Jake Bernards, although he may have some competition. Personally, I do not see the back-up as replacing Ryan Lindley, but I am not the coach and I am not watching the competition for playing time in the same angle as the coaching staff. Just the same, Shanahan is providing his opinion as to why the Aztecs probably will not pursue Tate Forcier. And he backs up his opinion with some details as to why he feels that way, including who we currently have and what the probable competition for the starting spot will look like with the current players plus the current verbal commitment.

Don't be so quick to discount Bernards. The kid has skills.

There is going to be a hell of a battle i'd imagine behind the scenes including Jefferies who I imagine will redshirt and run the scout team. A bowl game will be huge because that contest will be center stage then
