Chad Jefferies has stood solid on his commitment through all the Hoke Pokey stuff. He issued his statement saying he remains committed right after it broke that Hoke was leaving. I think he attended every Aztec home football game and has come to quite a few basketball games. He is a leader, has some amazing skills and has shown great character.
If Bernard beats him out, then all that means is that Bernard is better...and WOW! That would be incredible!

The article says the staff is satisfied with what they have, plus Jeffries. I think that's a testament to what they think of Jeffries more than anything. Also says Bernards will be the #2 guy entering spring camp but with a new OC coming in, that's subject to change. The odd thing to me is it still lists Morrison among the contenders to succeed Lindley. I expected that by this time they would be thinking of moving him to TE. (AlumniAztec can chime in if I'm off base on that.) I don't have a subscription but are are they really saying that the qb spot is up for grabs? At this point I think it's pretty clear Lindley is a lock to start in 2011. If they are saying there's a chance for Bernards to beat him out it sounds like happy talk. Dont be silly, we all know Lindley is the man. I think it's good to have a battle to see who will take over after Lindley is gone.

The article reads Lindley will be a fourth-year starter in 2011 setting records and then it refers to the competition with Bernards and the others beginning in 2012.

The Tate Family website reminds me od Marinovich. I feel sorry for the kids and can't see why any school would be interested.

From the title looks like SDSU turned him down, not vice-versa The article says the staff is satisfied with what they have, plus Jeffries. (AlumniAztec can chime in if I'm off base on that.) I would hate to have lost Jeffries for this kid. I saw Forcier in HS and at MI and he has game, but dude and his family have issues. Keep this distraction as far away as possible.

What happened to all the people on this board that wanted to build a fence around San Diego. He's a local product and alot of people were pissed off at the previous staff for not offering him a scholarship. Now people have a change of heart.. Cricket... Cricket.... First of all this guy and his family thought he was too big for this program. He goes to the "dream job school"only to find out that they can get guys with equal or better talent. But what really bothers me is the arrogance now to come back after losing his starting position and his failing grades, after State has a winning season and things are looking up, to think that now I'll grace your team with my presence!! He can take his "street smarts" somewhere else. It's about team here.

Forcier wants to play..... not go to school.
Not the type of player we want.
We want "student athletes".

He can take his "street smarts" somewhere else. It's about team here. It seems to me the Forcier kids are used to having everything their way and as soon as he lost the starting job, he basically quit mentally. He was pouting on the sidelines and stopped worrying about his academic standing. As big as these kids were coming out of HS, so far they all appear to be "failing" in life. Their heads are so big, they think they are bigger than life itself - too good for everything. Hopefully dad can stop being so focused on his dream to get them an NFL paycheck and will just prepare them to live happily and do the best they can, even if that means acceptign that they can't always have everything the way they want it to be. It seems like there is clear consensus that he is better off somewhere else. Sometimes you just need to learn from your mistakes.
