Yeah, I know our basketball team is great and we're still more than a month from March Madness, so shoot me if you like but I can't help getting excited about Aztecs football. And a huge game for us this year is WSU. We haven't beaten a team from an AQ conference in forever and this is the game we need to break that pattern. Wazzu stinks out loud. 3-22 the last three years. And they aren't exactly getting better with their recruiting: mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=137&f=1995&t=7108234Amazingly, Paul Wulff is still around. (WSU must be as broke as UNM.) That's really, really good for us. Last year we played at New Mexico State and Andre damn near predicted a loss, again and again. Said we would lose because he would never feel comfortable with any road game until we actually won one. Well, I'm calling you out, Andre. I'm saying this game is this year's NMSU. Yeah we haven't beaten AQ teams even at home. However, just like last year with NMSU, we're getting a lousy opponent at a time when that lousy opponent isn't yet ready to improve. So just like a year ago with NMSU, I'm predicting an SDSU victory in this one. What about you, Andre (and anybody else who disagrees)? Are you on board or are you still a skeptic? And if you're still a skeptic, why is that?

Easy call, Aztecs win. Army will almost certainly be a tougher game than WSU.

We are going to boat race them in front of a big crowd. They are AWFUL. After struggling to put NMSU away in the first half, we eventually beat them comfortably, 41-21. I can see the Wazzu game being similar.

For the record, they came close to upsetting bowl bound rival Washington in their final game. Final was 35-28. They appear to be on the rebound. We should have all learned by now not to take anyone for granted.

The best thing about playing Wazzu is that we can ship Zuma back to Pullman with the team when they leave.

Call it my imagination, but I thought Wazzu was starting to turn it around the latter part of the season. It could be a gradual thing, much like their basketball this year. Now if their football recruits look bad this season then maybe their late season upturn was only a blip. Hope so anyway.

We should have all learned by now not to take anyone for granted. The only thing good I can say about WSU is that in 2010, they lost closer than they did in 2009 and in 2009, they lost closer than they did in 2008. So maybe this year they'll manage more than two wins. However, they aren't going to get one of them against us.

We are taking WAZZU down here next season.
Payback is hell for that fiasco in Seattle I witnessed a few years back.

The fact remains, depsite them being a BCS conference team, we are a superior football team.

They have a buttload of RS Frosh and Sophs that played a lot of downs last year. They may look young & crappy on paper but they are now experienced. They have a decent passing game but not much in the running dept. Lindley should have a good day as well as Hillman but don't think it will be easy.

TG for that, there is nothing more obnoxious than a bunch of coug fans on game day. They act like they don't get out much & wind up hammered before kickoff. I have never seen so many students drunk on their arses as the game SDSU played at QWEST Field!

We should have all learned by now not to take anyone for granted. True, true. There are no guaranteed wins for us. If you were a Wazzu fan you'd be writing about a new head coach and almost a new staff as virtually everyone went to Michigan. They are probably looking at catching us a little down as well. We still have a lot to prove football wise. One good season versus some really weak teams does not tell the tale. I am much encouraged about next year but I'm not willing to guarantee anything. As for calling this game a W or not I will stand on my practice of not predicting specific games until after Spring and Fall practice. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

Look go read the CougZone.com some of those delusional coug fans expect to be 5 & 0 when they play Stanford. They expect to beat every OOC team they face.

What BCS Bowl would an unbeaten MWC team play in next football season? I would presume that since Boise St. is joining us, an unbeaten MWC team would rank 4 - 6, which is good enough to qualify for a BCS Bowl.

As for calling this game a W or not I will stand on my practice of not predicting specific games until after Spring and Fall practice. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation. When Urban Meyer took off and Kyle W. took over, Ute fans thought their team would duplicate Meyers effort since he was promoted from within, like Rocky. I think they went 7-5 that year. We know what happened in the ensuing years, but Rocky inherits a different sitation for his first year. Hoke got his dream job, but he left a year early. This team will peak with Lindley this upcoming year. We also know the defense will be better, hands down. The key is Lindley who will now be THE leader as a senior. Utah lost Alex Smith the same year Meyer left so they had to break in a new QB, hence the 7-5 record. I really feel we'll be better in 2011 if Lindley stays healthy and Andy Ludwig proves he belongs. Rocky's challenging year will actually be 2012.
