Thought he was very soft offensively tonight. Had many chances to just go up ferociously when under the basket and get a dunk or draw a foul, and instead he seemed to go up tentatively and got his shot blocked. As the game wore on that tentativeness seemed to seep into his defense. Those shooting fouls in the 2nd half were embarrassing. I'm sure they were partly due to tired legs... His first half defense was great, but wish he could have been more of a tone setter on offense. He's capable of bringing the house down when he wants to. Like everyone else except Leonard, he just picked a bad night to have a bad game...

difference in the game:; he got beat like a drum by Davies, and he couldn't finish in the first half.
Jimmer didn't beat us, Davies did

I don't think he played very smart tonight.

Malcom didnt have his best game, but why was he all alone in the paint - where were the other bigs? He seemed to be out numbered most of the game.

I voted for Thomas as our MVP since I though he offense, rebounding and shot blocking would make a difference...had he made those shots, I think SDSU wins.

Plus T had several TO's as well. Sloppy all around for sure. Team went way over their quota of TO's.

And what the hell was up with how well they blocked our shots!? NOBODY has done that all year, and we've played bigger teams...

Malcom didnt have his best game, but why was he all alone in the paint - where were the other bigs? He seemed to be out numbered most of the game. I think the game plan was to have him alone under the basket with the other guys on the perimeter to contain the fast breaks... Malcolm will have better games ahead.

Malcolm got bent over a table and was the leak in that game plan

Malcolm looked the way he did against Gonzaga. This time Billy wasn't able to pick up the slack and score 30.
They both got beat inside and Billy couldn't shoot much from outside.
Oldie Out

Malcolm looked timid all game. I doubt we'll see the same deer-in-the-headlights look versus BYU at Viejas. Thomas will come to play.

I would've put Carwell in for some quality minutes and some inside "enforcement" in the paint. That didn't happen, Billy and Kawhi got a little gassed. Shelton did his best but couldn't keep up the pace.
Oldie Out

Those that watch every game know that Thomas is great on D, but offensively unless its a dunk its a low percentage shot.
