Wow, I was partially joking when I started this thread but it would be great if he does come here.
So it looks like he would sit out next year and be ready to play in 2012.

If he comes here and we have a ton of guards do we play with a 3+ guard rotation? How does that work? Can fisher coach that? Can we win with that?
Assume you are talking to a 5 year old if you respond?

Is he eligible to play second semester next season? Or does he sit the whole year?

Consider this a done deal. Jones to SDSU. Bekays (or anyone else for that matter), can you please breakdown his game to the rest of us who have not seen him play yet? Strengths/weakness, etc. Thanks again for all the info!

Just off the top of my head...Really good athlete, has some bounce to his game, pretty good rebounder, solid defender, moves well laterally. A lot of his points came in transition the time I saw him play, I think his outside game still needs some work and refinement. Has the ability to take the ball to the rim and finish.

Very athletic and long. Moves his feet well on defense. Has a superb ability to get to the rim and finishes strong. Decent rebounder as a guard, goes after the ball. Does a good job in transition and a decent passer.
Not a great jump shooter yet or shooting off the bounce. Average 3 point shooter when given some time.

It sounds like Jones and coach ONeil had some serious issues and like one of the posters above stated .. I wouldn't be surprised if this was more of getting kicked off the team, than actually transferring. That said, he is an 18 year old kid and ONeil has had issues with many of his players in the past because of his tough personality and coaching style.
According to reports Jones will stay enrolled in classes at USC for the spring semester .. transfer in the fall, sit out 1 year and become eligible in 2012 with 3 years remaining. He'll have time to grow as a player and person .. and at 6'5 200, he'll easily be able to get minutes at the SF/G/wing positions.
We suddenly have a ton of G/Wing recruits with ... 2011: 6'6 Rasean Simpson 6'5 CJ Blackwell
2012: 6'6 Xavier Johnson 6'6 Matt Shrigley 6'6 Richard Longrus

Dude is a 6'5" shooting guard / athlete, I think he'll fit in quite nicely. JFrank, LBF & Thames will be Juniors while Tapley and Rahon will be seniors (and Kawhi will be in the NBA), he'll be a redshirt Sophomore. The 2 big men transfers will also be seniorsMy guess is that he would be a bench guy the first season he plays and then will likely be the focal point as a RS Junior.

If he comes here and we have a ton of guards do we play with a 3+ guard rotation? How does that work? Can fisher coach that? Can we win with that? Assume you are talking to a 5 year old if you respond? Villonova played 4 guards and was one of the top teams in the country. Yes we can play 3 guards and win. Many teams play 3 guards. The Aztecs played 3 guards very well, for periods, before Kawhi arrived. 2008-2009 4 Aztecs averaged the following minutes: 6'5" Kyle Spain 27.2 6'4" Matt Thomas 12.7 6'0" DJ Gay 26.7 5'10" Richie Williams 30.3 -------------------------------- Total 96.9 That means the Aztecs played at least 16.9 minutes with 3 guards. That is only 3.1 minutes less than half a game. That is the team that ended #34 in RPI and lost in the finals to Utah in the MWC tournament and went to NYC for the NIT semis. Lo Wade who played the other minutes at SF (3rd guard) was only 6'6" - an inch taller than Bryce.
