Eh, entirely fair. And a good point about Byrd's best value (for now) maybe being his ability to play anything 1-3 off the bench... and on some nights quite likely playing more minutes than one of the starters in those roles. But I think he could be LeDee-caliber in terms of impact the following season. I seem to remember, prior to arriving on The Mesa... Miles was quoted as saying he didn't plan on being here longer than 3 years. Not sure if he has the mindset to come off the bench any longer. Yeah Byrd is definitely starting next year at the 3, alongside Waters at the 2.

While Parrish may live closer to MSU - I thought that the family preferred the Wolverines

I think we could find room for him... He's from San Diego... And he's spent the last four years in Lubbock Texas and Boise Idaho. Maybe he'd like to play in his hometown in his last college year. Probably will go for the $ instead but it sure would be nice to have him here.

He has had opportunities to go to SDSU but turned to other schools - so wouldn't the NIL situation play a lot more importance then coming to SDSU
Do not know anything about his friends in San Diego but sometimes guys try to stay away from their friends in HS so go to schools where that might not be a problem
take it Butler and Waters have not made any decisions ?

Article from Boise said that Agbo's NIL is in the $500,000 range and Boise just can't compete with that. I guess the days of kids bouncing back to home-towns only happens now if the home-town has a lot of cash. God, I HATE THIS SH*T!!!

This news is just in! FedEx has unveiled a groundbreaking $5 million NIL program deal for the University of Memphis Athletics. Their latest initiative includes an athlete-focused video designed for digital, social, and broadcast platforms, highlighting their talented student-athletes. It's interesting to see such generous support fostering the growth and success of student-athletes, does San Diego have any corporate support behind the MESA NIL efforts? www.kmvt.com/video/2024/04/19/fedex-announces-5-million-nil-program-deal-university-memphis-athletics/

Those are typically "you may earn as much as..." but in reality it never comes close. Yet they still fall for it. With Agbo, the minute he hired a NIL agent it screamed what he was about. The agent is dictating where he goes, and doesn't even provide the opportunity to sell the "come home" angle. It's unfortunate. Agbo would have been the perfect Aztec recruit.
