Reports indicate an impending escalation in this conflict. Israel attacked a target in Syria which killed a number of Iranian military officers. Iran is dusting off its tomahawk missiles (hmmm, I wonder how they could afford those) for a retaliatory strike against Israel. Biden is telling Iran “don’t.” The US Naval forces in the area are on high alert. Tensions are high. www.cnn.com/2024/04/12/politics/white-house-iran-threat-israel/index.htmlIran has had missile capabilities for a long, long time. It's not like they developed technology last week. Russia, Russia, Russia.

This is all a result of Biden screwups. The Biden Administration’s transferring billions of dollars to Iran while not enforcing any of the existing sanctions was particularly pathetic. Most of that money has gone back into restoring Iranian military assets along with their terrorist associates. After all of Biden’s generosity to the Iranian people, his warning “don’t” gets disregarded, showing zero respect for The Commander In Chief of the most powerful military in history.
Remarkable, one incredibly inept Administration can bring us to the doorstep of WW III in just 3 years.

So there is that. The USA is currently funding two separate proxy wars, with money we generally don’t have. Our country’s capital is being drained away. We need a change in leadership at the top, a group of politicians who won’t sell off our precious resources. The initial drone/missile attack on Israel was unsuccessful. The problem I see, drones are far cheaper than iron dome interceptor shots. Israel knows this and will probably respond in kind sooner rather than later. Once again, the Biden’s are funding both sides of this conflict. Billions of $$$ to Iran …….. plus military and financial support to our ally Israel. Just unbelievable.

The US will never run out of money. They'll add to the debt, as they have done for a very, very long time. Nearly $8T was added during a single Trump term, for example. So if that's the leadership you want, it runs counterintuitive to your point here. Biden has already said he will not back an Israeli response and Iran clearly doesn't want to escalate to a point of regional war, hence the half-measure.

Yeah, I think that's laughable, personally. 80% of the debt has been accrued since 2001. As long as there are printing capabilities, the money will continue to be printed. Trillions will be added. And no, that's completely backwards. As I said, pulling out of the deal allowed Iran to stockpile uranium and cut their process time down by a substantial margin. I don't know what planet you're on, but it isn't this one. This laughable assertion that Iran is suddenly rich overnight is a figment of your imagination. Iran has been funding Hamas for close to two decades...and that doesn't even account for Russia's involvement. And no, this war was started when Trump pulled out of the Nuclear Pact. Disastrous decisions have disastrous consequences. I notice you didn't even comment on the record deficit addition by the Trump administration. Wonder why.

He is perceived as a weak senile old man….by pretty much everybody, except for a few demented democrat voters who are in complete denial that they support the most dangerously inept president in history. You guys blame every Biden blunder on the previous administration! Never does this administration own up to their own mistakes. Never. It is literally impossible to take you people seriously when you see things happen then transfer blame to someone else. Can’t the people of team Biden adapt and overcome to anything in the face of adversity? Passing the buck is how they deal with every problem. “It’s Trump’s fault!” The complete vacuum of leadership and accountability is the reason why this situation is going sideways. By now, it seems obvious that President Biden’s administration will not be able to defuse the situation.

They expect he’d abandon Ukraine, demanding that it cede Crimea and the Donbas region to Russia and thereby encouraging Putin’s expansionism in Europe. Trump inherited a booming economy from Obama, then botched the pandemic response so badly that Biden had to inherit an economy reeling with the deaths of over a million people. Inflation was a natural byproduct of repairing the damage, with COVID relief checks and direct payments to families, while also dealing with supply chain disruptions, manufacturing issues, job loss, etc. Just one example of many. Iran knows it doesn't want a full-blown escalation, so their "attack" was a half-measure, the weakest military option available to them. It resulted in exactly zero deaths, very little damage to infrastructure and no real lasting impact to military installations. It was a lot of spectacle without a lot of substance. Speaking of being taken seriously, you might want to re-brand. It's kind of a disservice.

One thing I'll give credit to Trump for, (giving credit where credit is due) is the fact that he didn't screw up the economy. It didn't get worse. He built off of what Obama did, which was very good since he inherited a bad economy, or kept it at the same numbers in many areas. One being unemployment, which was extremely low under Trump. Of course this all happened until COVID hit. Also, the L.A. Times is a very liberal newspaper. Of course they're going to have this opinion.

Trump was the first president since Herbert Hoover to oversee a net job loss. His *handling* of the pandemic, not just the pandemic itself, created that situation. Biden's job growth has consistently beaten economic forecasts, which called for a recession last year. If you want to give Trump credit for not ruining Obama's economy in his first three years, go for it. By the same token, you'd have to give Biden credit for the same.

The Iranians see the Cowardly manner The Biden Administration goes after Trump in the courtroom, seeking to eliminate his name from ballots. However, the Machiavellian manner in which Biden approaches this election among other things, looks very weak to the patriarchal military and religious leaders who implement Iranian foreign policies. All that being said, I am glad the Iranian attack was swatted down with minimal casualties and Netanyahu is waiting a few days to see what happens in Tehran.

They see a politician who is hesitant to take on his political opponent face to face and deduce they are dealing with a craven cur. Please keep in mind, I personally am not calling Biden, a coward. However, the Machiavellian manner in which Biden approaches this election among other things, looks very weak to the patriarchal military and religious leaders who implement Iranian foreign policies. All that being said, I am glad the Iranian attack was swatted down there were no casualties and Netanyahu is waiting a few days to see what happens in Tehran. Iran is scared of the United States.
