This "story" is an opinion piece by a long-time defender of Israel and it's actions. Most of them, from both sides, are opinion pieces. Is there video of Hamas kidnapping Israelis from the concert?

And starving the Palestinian people by not letting in basic needs such as food is kosher? We are all aware that war isn't 'nice' - but there are international rules of war that countries are supposed to follow. Now is the time to jump off the Israel bandwagon, your position is going to look quite ugly with hindsight. Israel is going to have the book thrown at them in the ICJ for massacring the Palestinian people. Hey, I'm not jumping off any band wagon. You guys can jump over to maga if you like. Think trump would be "nice" to Hamas? At least Biden is making an effort to calm things. If Hamas gets left in place, you know what happens 5years down the line. I have Israeli friends, I'm also born in France and those mf's killed French citizens as well...so there's that. Your rhetoric seems to have jumped over to MAGA-like: Opinion: The ‘Make Israel Great Again’ movement will likely do the opposite "Let’s think for a moment, what does that mean? In the United States, we saw a country divided by MAGA rhetoric." "For Israel, I’m afraid, MIGA will have worse consequences than MAGA had in the U.S." " MAGA rhetoric has seeded discord in American life. Antisemitism, Islamophobia, racism, misogyny and homophobia are on the rise. We have widespread hostility where there should be love for one’s neighbor. "Should the far-right in Israel, egged on by the Jewish extremists in the U.S., risk MIGA rhetoric that will turn Israel into a society of hateful citizens in need of censure by a world court?" www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/opinion-the-make-israel-great-again-movement-will-likely-do-the-opposite/ar-BB1hRGKh?ocid=msedgntp&pc=HCTS&cvid=8f69e33fbe6a4e7a9f839a76397cffbf&ei=64

Ya right...nice try re: trump. I have a deep world experience, including working in many countries over the years. I can't be put in a box. ....and I don't feel the need to post links over and over again to make a point. This is not my favorite subject..so I'll leave well enough alone.

Rejecting the usual Senate approach of compromising principles in order to pass omnibus spending measures, Sanders has said, “I will be damned if I’m going to give another nickel to the Netanyahu government in order to continue this war against the Palestinian people.” In a stark, and unrelenting, address to his colleagues as the debate on the measure unfolded late last week, the 2016 and 2020 presidential candidate recounted the horror that has unfolded since October 7 of last year, when Hamas attacked Israeli kibbutzim and a music festival, killing roughly 1,200 Israelis. “As I have said many times, Israel has the right to defend itself against Hamas’s terrorism, but it does not have the right to obliterate an entire people,” said the senator. But, he added, he could not accept the devastation that has resulted from Israel’s relentless assault on Palestinian men, women and children living in Gaza. In addition to the death toll, he said, “1.7 million people have been driven from their homes and, unbelievably, some 70 percent of the housing units in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed. This is an unheard-of level of destruction. Nearly 80 percent of the population has been displaced, and they have no idea of where to go, or whether or not they will ever return to their homes. Many of these men, women, and children have been displaced multiple times.” “And, Mr. President, as horrible as all of this is, let me tell you what is even worse. As a result of Israeli bombing and restrictions on aid entering Gaza, only a tiny fraction of the food, water, medicine, and fuel that is needed can get into Gaza. Even then, very little of that aid can reach beyond the immediate area around the Rafah crossing from Egypt. And let’s be clear about what this means. It means that today, hundreds of thousands of children are starving and lack clean drinking water. The UN says the entire population is at imminent risk of famine, and 378,000 people are starving right now. According to the UN, one in 10 children under the age of 5 in Gaza is now acutely malnourished. And when malnutrition affects young children, it often means permanent physical and cognitive damage that will impact the rest of their lives. Mr. President, if nothing charges, we will soon have hundreds of thousands of children literally starving to death before our very eyes.” - www.thenation.com/article/politics/bernie-sanders-israel-aid-vote/

Is this the majority? There are extremists everywhere. Valid point - I'm not sure - but these are Israeli journalists. It's not 'evidence' of anything, but the picture into the mindset of the people that we are funding is sickening. I know we talk about how horrible Hamas is, but Palestinians aren't Hamas, and the people on video are saying some pretty horrible things. Also, the people on video are openly saying these things on TV as journalists, which means that they (likely) are not extremists.

I mean, no, I would say that some Palestinians (are literally) in Hamas. Some Israelis (are literally) in the Israeli army. It doesn't mean anything in any substantive way. You can't justify violence towards Palestinians by labeling them as Hamas, and you can't justify violence towards Israeli's by labeling them as part of the Israeli army. But it is sickening to hear nonetheless.

Uh, what is the point of such a remark? You may have noticed that the Germans did NOT have five more years. Even if, by some mysterious sequence of events they had achieved a negotiated peace, Germany would have needed well more than five years to gather enough money to create a Manhattan Project sized endeavor. (The cost of the Manhattan Project was enormous, second only to the cost of creating the B-29.)
You will remember that the German economy was mostly destroyed by Allied bombing.
AzWm
Actually, Werner Heisenberg and a team of physicists were very capable of developing a nuclear weapon through the heavy water process. Heisenberg reportedly slowed his weapons development in Norway in favor of energy production because he knew the dire consequences of a nuclear Hitler. This was a serious and worrisome effort which lead to several allied sabotage efforts. large.stanford.edu/courses/2018/ph241/olmsted2/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norwegian_heavy_water_sabotageAlso, didn’t the Germans move their factories underground into the sewers and tunnels? After they did this in 1944, their industrial output of planes and tanks actually increased which included the Me 262 jet fighter and the dreaded Tiger Tank. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_aircraft_production_during_World_War_IIImpressive for a society who was bombed to pieces in ‘43 to rebound and increase production in ‘44. Of course, this was all academic after the Allies overtook their factories in ‘45. Plus the Germans were never going to compete with the industrial giants of the USA and USSR in terms of sheer quantity. In terms of any potential conflict between the USA and Iran, (back on topic) the United States still has no equal in terms of production and innovation.
A pretty good video about German atomic efforts. They were the the first to actually split atoms and open the door to the atomic age. Thank goodness they hid their findings from Hitler otherwise the world would have been different after WW II.

Is your last name Quisling by any chance? This is not a partisan political statement between Republicans and Democrats (and if you are going to make such a claim or divert the discussion, I challenge you to back it up) but a call for the destruction of our civilization by people/enemies in our own backyard! There is a difference. Where are the insurrection democrats on this? I guess they aren’t GOP, so it doesn’t appear on their radar.

Our country's foreign policy over the last 40 years in the Middle East is a huge part of the reason why extremists are saying this type of stuff. Destroying the Palestinian and Afghans people, to name just a few.

Reports indicate an impending escalation in this conflict. Israel attacked a target in Syria which killed a number of Iranian military officers. Iran is dusting off its tomahawk missiles (hmmm, I wonder how they could afford those) for a retaliatory strike against Israel. Biden is telling Iran “don’t.” The US Naval forces in the area are on high alert. Tensions are high. www.cnn.com/2024/04/12/politics/white-house-iran-threat-israel/index.html
