I have worked in the media business for over 30 years and have never seen anything like Elon Musk destroying Twitter. Why is this a topic for SDSU recruiting? Well, Elon Musk now limits the number of tweets a user can view to 300 per day (for non-subscribers, he has already kicked me off his “free speech” platform.) 300 tweets per day, becomes a short 5 to 10-minute session, which does not allow me to dig into conferences, schools, players, recruits, and relevant topics.
Some of you may be thrilled, calling research, findings, and facts off-topic, while others like the ongoing narratives, following the available trends, info, and insights.
U.S. Twitter Ad sales are down 59% or $3 Billion a year since he took over, now he wants people to pay for subscriptions, verification, and to view tweets. Most major advertisers left the platform, but it was one place where sports content was flourishing and easier to find. Now it is not.
It is bull$#!+, I will be posting less until other platforms such as Threads, Bluesky, and Clubhouse are adopted and become more mainstream. Reddit also looks like an option, as well as YouTube.
Maybe less is more, but limiting free speech and the ability to view content is wrong and Musk has killed Twitter for Aztec sports updates and insights. Since Musk bought Twitter is glitchier, bottier, and spammier than ever, suffering a fate worse than death — irrelevance.

I'd contact Twitter support. It would be a bummer to wait for another platform - Threads is bombing already and it will be many, many years until and if a replacement takes over. Meta just posted declining ad revenue for the first time in its existence, too, and that includes Instagram buoying cratering Facebook revenues. Tiktok is vacuuming up dollars, and companies are broke.

Less is definitely more in the recruiting forum!
Do we really need game-by-game stats for every player in America? Do we really need to know every single school that offers a player? Do we really need multi-page threads where every single post is from the same person?
Where does the madness end?

By the way Jim Jordan ( House of Representatives ) is investigating why the FTC is being so harsh on Mr Musk - if you want to talk about a waste of Tax Payer money
Gundo has been trying to provide recruiting information - as some say if you do not care to read then do not read his posts

"TWIT" is part of the name and in my experience, since it's inception, very little that has ever come from this platform has been of service to humanity.

At first glance, I assumed it would be a political post and should be moved, but when I read it, it made sense to me how it was relevant to this board for our ability to learn about Aztec recruiting. I find that I learn more from Gundo than any other source including the mainstream sources like the UT, so if Gundo is not able to find info, then it affects my ability to keep up with things and more importantly, potentially the ability for coaches and recruiting coordinators to have access to as much info and for potential recruits to get their info out.

How about this stay out of the recruiting forum. It is not that hard. I really like Gundo insight in all the basketball players SDSU are interested in.

What insight would that be? 15k+ posts and we have yet to receive one piece of original thought or inside information! Just regurgitation of garbage/useless information. XYZ recruit scored 14 points on Monday... let's post it. XYZ recruit scores 16 points on Tuesday... let's post it. XYZ recruit scores 18 points on Wednesday... let's post it! Never mind the fact we have 0% chance of signing XYZ recruit. Thousands and thousands of posts every recruiting cycle... and we sign 2-3 players? Having to sift through all of his useless posts... to find one piece of tangible information... for what? So he can feel like a recruiting guru of some sort?

Gundo has had all kinds of posts that I’ve found useful. Do I read every one? No, but that’s because his thread titles usually let you know what’s inside. Not understanding the outrage for something no one is forcing you to read.

My simple answer would be - nobody says we “need” them. But it doesn’t bother me any. I appreciate the work Gundo does. Nobody’s paying him for the posts (that I know of). And none of us are paying to read this board. Hence my confusion on the outrage.

Thousands and thousands of posts regarding players we have no chance of signing. Trying to find useful information in the recruiting forum is almost impossible now... all thanks to one poster.

It supposed to have everything that is going on with SDSU programs. We get it, you really don’t care about it. But other do. So stop complaining and go back to the main forum. Bye Felicia!

We have a chance of signing every basketball recruit we offer, and most that we have mutual interest in. I too don't read every one of his psots but I definitely appreciate them. It's a whole lot better than reading dolts argue over climate change or canopies on the main board. As a bright scholar once said... If you don't like hoobs' post... just move on, you don't have to comment on it! But also, some of us don't agree or appreciate your negative outlook on our flagship program, either... 0% chance we ever sniff a Final Four again.

Don't want to read it then don't. People like I and others enjoy his posts. I'd rather have options to read than to not have options. His research is gladly accepted by me and saves me time from doing the searching myself. So, thank you, Gundo.

I use Twitter and it doesn't seem to have changed at all except for now you can say whatever you want and not risk getting banned unless it's illegal. Nothing I've said on there would've ever gotten me banned anyway, but seems like it's the opposite of limiting free speech compared to how it was before
I've never noticed a 300 view limit but maybe I just don't use it enough each day? How would they even keep track of how many tweets you see as you scroll?
I totally disagree that it's glitchier and doesn't work as well. I also haven't noticed there being any more spam than before
