You clearly are confused. You say outrage... I say frustration. Thousands and thousands of posts regarding players we have no chance of signing. Trying to find useful information in the recruiting forum is almost impossible now... all thanks to one poster. We have a chance of signing every basketball recruit we offer, and most that we have mutual interest in. I too don't read every one of his psots but I definitely appreciate them. It's a whole lot better than reading dolts argue over climate change or canopies on the main board. As a bright scholar once said... If you don't like hoobs' post... just move on, you don't have to comment on it! But also, some of us don't agree or appreciate your negative outlook on our flagship program, either... 0% chance we ever sniff a Final Four again. Yes, a very bright scholar duly noted that one can easily look past a single post. With Gundo, we are talking about orders of magnitude with hundreds of threads and thousands of posts cluttering up the recruiting forum. Regarding my Final Four comment, please remind us all of the context of that conversation. IIRC, it was regarding NIL $$$. And I stand by that prediction 100%. And I am 100% willing to put my money where my mouth is, if you care to make it interesting? The hilarious irony of Gundo and all of his recruiting insights... we currently have one player committed for 2024. Please remind us of the bright scholar who was first to report the original offer... and please tell us who was first to report the commitment. I'll give you a hint, neither was Gundo.

on Saturday Elon Musk disclosed that due to a 50% drop in advertising revenue and a heavy debt load the platform still has a negative cash flow
It has been reported that from 4/1 until 5/1 advertising revenue was down 59% over last year
only 42% of Twitters top 1000 advertisers are still advertising now

From what I have read usage has increased and users will soon be able to monetize much like YouTube, which might attract more users and content creators. So looking at a 1 month snap shot is useless. It will be what happens with Twitter in the next 3-5 years what matters.

My simple answer would be - nobody says we “need” them. But it doesn’t bother me any. I appreciate the work Gundo does. Nobody’s paying him for the posts (that I know of). And none of us are paying to read this board. Hence my confusion on the outrage. You clearly are confused. You say outrage... I say frustration. Thousands and thousands of posts regarding players we have no chance of signing. Trying to find useful information in the recruiting forum is almost impossible now... all thanks to one poster. I share your frustration. It's basically becoming twitter, in that you have to flush 50 posts to find 1 that's relevant to SDSU hoops. But it is what it is, and I've learned to pretty much ignore the recruiting threads unless the header names a player who I know has been linked to the Aztecs. While I'd love to have clean, relevant threads & save time I've come to the realization that in today's social media that's not happening anywhere, anytime. You just have to weed thru the garbage & hope that a good thread pops up & occasionally it does.

will guess that Musk will end up running Twitter towards a crash - has had such great success with the Florida Gov and RFK as headliners

interesting have been branded a "5" , throwing out the First Pitch at Padres games , being too supportive of CA , stressing the importance of the OL for football
Now simply stated how such an "honorable " man Musk is and his fairness having the Florida Gov and Democrat RFK on his media outlet -

The entire splashy new Twitter alternative lived an entire three days So many lessons out there. Threads failed to include the features that made people rely on the Twitter - launched prematurely without enough thought. Proboards has a better shot with it's structure.
For those that didn't know...the plan for Twitter was to replicate WeChat but on rocketfuel - social news, media, all the Facebook apps, billpay, etc. - eventually with a new cryptocurrency based upon it. It's actually a great idea and Twitter was an ideal platform to take it there which is why Elon overpaid in the first place. In parallel, the Saudis have been working to free themselves of the US Dollar and this was a path which is why they dumped so much into it. Only Elon was too vain and for all his smarts he is a complete moron socially. There is an element of the right wing mindset where the cruelty is the point if it attacks the left. Bringing on hate speech disguised as free speech fits that mentality...and was costly. I don't see how he recovers financially or egotistically. Tough spot.

If it's a noteworthy recruit, their signing usually gets posted on the main Aztec Sports' forum anyway. Since the Aztec Recruiting forum is separate from that, you could see all of the actual recruits we sign without seeing the clutter of this forum. If you only want to see recruits that the Aztecs "will probably sign" on this forum, I don't know how you could do that without a crystal ball. Sure, someone like Mikey Williams will probably not sign with the Aztecs and there was a big thread on him. But where do you draw the line? A 1 in 5 chance? 1 in 20? 1 in 1000? And who defines those odds?

It seems a few of you are being pretty harsh towards Gundo. He isn't forcing anything on anybody and is a source in information. I enjoy reading his psots and if not, I will just ignore or scroll through really quickly. I think Gundo psots to try and help where as Stan will psots to be seen or heard. Same number of psots but different approaches. I prefer the Gundo approach as he provides a source of updates on recruiting.

All the sudden I am super popular with all of the single hot chicks. Constant new followers. Lots of conversations and wanting to talk and it was great. I never felt so alive. Then my kids said they are really dudes or bots and totally ruined it for me. 😉

I have worked in the media business for over 30 years and have never seen anything like Elon Musk destroying Twitter. Why is this a topic for SDSU recruiting? Well, Elon Musk now limits the number of tweets a user can view to 300 per day (for non-subscribers, he has already kicked me off his “free speech” platform.) 300 tweets per day, becomes a short 5 to 10-minute session, which does not allow me to dig into conferences, schools, players, recruits, and relevant topics. Some of you may be thrilled, calling research, findings, and facts off-topic, while others like the ongoing narratives, following the available trends, info, and insights. U.S. Twitter Ad sales are down 59% or $3 Billion a year since he took over, now he wants people to pay for subscriptions, verification, and to view tweets. Most major advertisers left the platform, but it was one place where sports content was flourishing and easier to find. Now it is not. It is bull$#!+, I will be posting less until other platforms such as Threads, Bluesky, and Clubhouse are adopted and become more mainstream. Reddit also looks like an option, as well as YouTube. Maybe less is more, but limiting free speech and the ability to view content is wrong and Musk has killed Twitter for Aztec sports updates and insights. Since Musk bought Twitter is glitchier, bottier, and spammier than ever, suffering a fate worse than death — irrelevance. Thanks for doing what you do. Not everyone will appreciate it but there are plenty on the board that do. Twitter has become a hot mess over the past 6 months. Mostly because of letting anyone buy a blue check mark and then Amplifying those tweets. instead of letting popular tweets get amplified . it created a terrible messaging platform where you buy priority. He also disincentivized actual journalists, news companies, celebrities and others from posting new content.
