Tell me again how having Grisham hit 3-4 times a game is good for the team. Tonight 3 ABs 3 Ks. How many times did the team strike out? Their starter K'd 12 … each of the relief guys K'd 1, so 14 all together. Pathetic.

Tell me again how having Grisham hit 3-4 times a game is good for the team. Tonight 3 ABs 3 Ks. How many times did the team strike out? 14 times but now Grisham is up to striking out 29% of his plate appearances. 29%! And 34% of his ABs. If he continues to do this, his defense better be better than it was tonight when that "triple" went off his glove. Yes, it was a difficult play but if he's there for his defense, he has to make that play.

Total team failure tonight, but predictable coming off the Dodger series.

Tell me again how having Grisham hit 3-4 times a game is good for the team. Tonight 3 ABs 3 Ks. Still a higher OBP than FTJ, Jake and Manny. Wish some of y'all would STFU about Grish - he's not close to being one of the reasons this team ain't making the playoffs.

Another stellar baseball evening at the plate. 0-4 with two Ks. He batted with 2 out and 2 men on base in the 9th. I actually predicted out loud to my wife exactly what would happen: he would take two hittable strikes and then eventually swing and miss a ball that wasn't a strike for strike 3. He's now hitting .087 from the 7th inning on with runners on base. So clutch. And I think that's at least the 5th time he has ended a game with runners on while he strikes out.
I know, I know, other Padres sucked also: Tatis, Soto, Manny and Crononworth were 0-14 and our new DHs are now 1-17 combined since the trades.

He is, who he is.

Grisham, in his last 5 games, has had 8 strike outs in 12 at bats, and 11 strike outs in 17 at bats in his last 7 games. Absolutely atrocious.
His defense doesn't make up for his horrible offense, in the slightest. Get creative, and get him out of there next year.

Keeping him around sends a bad signal to the rest of the team - incompetence will be accepted. That kind of failure cannot be allowed to continue. He's got to go.

Ideally Bogaerts so that Kim can go back to short and Cronenworth can go back to second. Grisham as a defensive replacement when we have a lead, pinch runner, and fourth outfielder who gets starts here and there.

The ground Tatis can cover in center field is mind boggling. Boegarts is a really good athlete, and I feel that he could make the move to right. I love Kim at short, and Croney at second. Will that happen? Doubtful, but I think it's a good idea.

Jackson Merrill is an option too. Once he's with the club, you got to think another shortstop is outfield bound. ...or one of the shortstops are going elsewhere. Also a possibility. Preller loves to trade away talent... although if he does make a trade like that, it likely will be for a superstar. The bigger issue with that though is that superstars make a lot of money, even pre FA in arbitration, and we need cheap talent to balance out our ridiculous contracts. So in that sense, trading away Merrill will only hurt us, unless its a prospects for prospects type of deal (I could see doing that for pitching).
