Brown would be a HUGE get for this year or next years team, they have 2 scholarships left. He could come in and play this year or come in and redshirt learn the system and play against this years team everyday and improve this years team having them practicing against a true 7 footer everyday. Pal + Brown would be a solid way to wrap up the recruiting cycle, although as we've seen EVERY year we always land 1 guy who's never mentioned as a candidate. Maybe that was RDW in this cycle though? Bandaego would be the ultimate get, and I could see Diallo & Dorius being solid gets as well. All possibly more impactful in year 1 than Brown. I'd take any of the 4, frankly. Or Washington, or even a Muoka. I am under the impression that they have only 10 guys* RIGHT now signed for next year and 3 open scholarships, so they could sign Pal and Brown and still have one more open.

Yes, but Dutch rarely uses more than 12 unless the 13th is redshirting and even then that could be the 12th man like last year with Byrd. I really doubt they add 3 until 1 redshirts and the other is a grad transfer/only 1 year of eligibility left. They don't like to stack players, and they really want Byrd & Saunders, and even Johnson to get minutes this season.

So indirectly, with Jay Pal you're saying that the Aztecs are done recruiting until BJ Davis (PG) & Miles Heide (Post) come in and the staff evaluate them? I feel like we have an opportunity to get RS big (2x transfer - like Ledee) and have him sit a year.

Gundo - do one of your " Digs " into Adrame Diongue a true 7 Ft Freshman last year at WSU with a 7 ' 5" Wingspan - a 4 star recruit from Chandler HS - noted for his defense - rebounding and rim protector
Realize only played 6 minutes a game did have an injury - average 1 point and 2 rebounds but noted for his defense
Family from Senegal so not sure of how much Basketball he has played
He could red shirt or assist Shay Johnson as a reserve down low - supposed to have a high ceiling

Gundo > Google > Google> Gundo . Will do Captain Stan, I am curious as well. Busy now, more time later. (I also checked your spelling and grammar above.)

Thank You Digger - take a hall pass
I did find couple of stats for Adrame said he had an 8.8 block ratio - no clue what that means ?
in addition 2.6 steal ratio ?

Adrame Diongue (Has been linked to the SDSU Aztecs)
Position: Center 7-0, 190lb Hometown: Dakar, Senegal High School: Compass Prep (AZ) RSCI Top 100: 65 (2022) School: Washington State From the Seattle Times 5/12/23
"The 7-foot, 190-pound Diongue was the Cougs’ prized recruit of the 2022 class.
The Senegal native came to WSU as a four-star recruit and the No. 43-ranked high-school prospect in the nation, according to ESPN. He signed with the Cougars last May, choosing the program over offers from Kansas, Illinois, Washington, and Mississippi State, among others. Diongue, out of Arizona Compass Prep, was WSU’s second-highest-rated recruit since 2000, per 247Sports.com.
Diongue was WSU’s primary backup option at center last season, averaging 6.3 minutes per game in 23 appearances. A rangy and athletic big man, Diongue had some bright moments as a defender, rebounder, and rim-protector. He recorded 1.3 points and 1.8 rebounds per game and totaled 12 blocked shots." thank you Digger
Some additional notes on Adrame - he has a 7'5" wingspan that sure helps when defending . He led his HS team to the GEICO National Basketball HS T in Florida against some top teams - known as a rim protector blocking 9 shots in 3 games . Also during HS regular season he averaged double digits in scoring
He was a Soccer player most of his life family was from Senegal . He played HS basketball in Arizona - has only played basketball for THREE or Four Seasons so is seen as a player that could really reach his talents as he plays more the memorable high ceiling / potential . He has 3 years to play . So could he or Heide play or red shirt ?
for those who understand a variety of stats had a 8.8 % Block Rate and 2.6 Steal rate

He played sparingly last season but showed flashes of potential with his length and athleticism. And It looks like Illinois is in the race as well. Shay may be older than Diongue who still has 3 years left, and perhaps a better skill set.

would guess that if the Aztecs had any interest they would have reached out - have no clue -
but really like the 7 ' 5 ' inch wing span and the thought that he has only been playing basketball for 4 years means he could have a very high ceiling
any way do hope the Coaches investigate

11 Players, assuming Butler & LeDee return. It may be nice to pick off another big, maybe a Red Shirt transfer to bring us to 12 and have the 13th for Spring transfers.
I am likely our size/length for this year's team. However, given the fact that Trammell and Butler are gone after the 23/24 season, perhaps we should look at a Combo guard red shirt?
PG/CG: Trammell (5'10"), Butler (6'2"), Davis (6'1") SG/Wing: Dixon-Waters (6'5"), Byrd (6'7") SF/Wing: Parrish (6'6"), Pal (6'9") PF/Post: LeDee (6'9"), Saunders (6'8"), Johnson (6'10"), Heide (6'10")
With this group, Johnson and Heide may be the odd men out on a 9 guy rotation.

As some have said IF they chose to either Heide or Adrame or even Javonte could red shirt to gain some experience / learn the system
Nice thing about most of the Aztec players is they can play multiple positions so it gives the coaches a variety of options to try to find the best combinations of 5 or 8 or 9 or 10 0r 11

Changed the thread's name to reflect the "known" three 7'0" post transfers, under consideration.

Just in case you don't know who Western Michigan is, "The Broncos." However, the distance between Kalamazoo (W Mich) and Toronto (home town) is less than a 5-hour drive.

That’s odd. Quite the step down, that’s one of the worst teams in D1. Guess we aren’t missing much with him if he’s going that direction.

Ibrahima Diallo Position: Forward/Center 6-11, 220lb Hometown: Dakar, Senegal High School: Quality Education Academy (NC) (Rutgers) Schools: Ohio State (2-yr.) and San Jose State (2-yr.)
"Diallo, a redshirt sophomore 7-foot center from Saly, Senegal, will conclude his two-year career as a San Jose State Spartan as a dominant dunker and shot blocker. He had a team leading 58 blocks in the turnaround season of 2022-23 where San Jose State went 21-14 (10-8 Mountain West) while averaging 6.0 points and 6.0 rebounds."

It is close to home. It only 5 hours to Toronto. Many schools in that area that are far far better. I’m guessing there wasn’t much interest from other schools. Well he has to redshirt. So, teams are not going to sign him if they are in a win now mode.
