This thread is to discuss interesting players in the portal. I assume that their will be 2,000 student athletes moving this year. Lets look at pros/cons of the guys who have entered the portal.
I'll start, Kamari Lands a Freshman from Hillcrest Prep. Lands averaged 33.4 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. He checked in at No. 47 in the 247Sports. Lands is a freshman leaving Louisville and the ACC.
Kands played 32 games, averaged 5.9 points and 1.9 rebounds, shot 32.6% from the floor, including 32.1% from three. He scored a career-high 15 points against Georgia Tech.
Oh, BTW he is a 6'8" 220 SG/Wing from Indianapolis.

Looks like Kansas, Syracuse, Marquette, ASU and others offered, but we didn't when he came out. Played in Phoenix so he might want to stay out west this time around. I'm sure Louisville's NIL deal was nice to him. They did well in S.Cal in football with several star players from St.John Bosco.

Dartmouth grad transfer Dame Adelekun is a 6'8", 220 lb PF who averaged 13.8 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 2.5 APG shooting 56.3% from the field. He is a native of Gastonia, NC. He will be scooped up and fast.

Gundo some very nice digs but do not go overboard on the other 2000 + Whomever wants to join in the discussion is welcome. The Mods can move this to another topic if they desire. We've "what if'd" the Pac 12 & Bug 12 for ages. I am curious what the board think about who we need and who is available. Starting Monday, expect another shoe to drop. All those unhappy players who didnt make the dance will look at their options.

6'10" Syracuse forward John Bol Ajak, graduate transfer. Spent 4 yrs at Syracuse & earned his degree. Signed with Syracuse as part of the 2019 recruiting class.
He was a former top 100 prospect but had injuries during his high school career. Ajok picked Syracuse over offers from Pittsburgh, VCU, UConn, Georgetown, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Villanova, Wake Forest and others.
Could be an option as a 5 coming off the bench. Had limited minutes in his Big East career. He'll get looks from mid-majors. From Sudan like AG, I could be reading more into it.

Unable to break the rotation on a really bad Syracuse team? Not really what we're likely to be looking for.

5-star Illinois basketball guard, ex-Kentucky recruit, Skyy Clark is seeking new team and I assume MILLIONS OF NIL BUCKS. The 6'3" 200 lb guard from LA who played at Monte Verde, left the team in early January, right after being taken out of the starting lineup, citing personal reasons.

SF 6'8" 210 Jaemyn Brakefield is transferring from Ole Miss (he transferred from Duke) and is on the move again. 4-star recruit, has two years left of eligibility. Big win for any school looking for an experienced player.

Worried about the 5 spot, we need a starter as I don’t think Heide will be ready out of the gate. Sorry just not sure of DJ at this point and i hope I am wrong. I have Ledee in the PF spot with Sanders. KJ would be a big plus if he came back but not counting on that right now. A Shooting forward that switches with Parrish could be a need although both Byrd and Saunders could also get minutes here. Lastly an experience taller guard to play opposite of Butler would be a good add as unsure if DT comes back or is better suited as a backup role . Byrd is also an option at the shooting guard once he gets his feet wet. When all is said and done we are going to miss our role players of Arop and Seiko. Last year we were able to get Parrish so I think we will bring in two to three transfers. I am expecting a big next year from Butler, Parrish and Ledee.

We need 1-2 bigs mattering on what keshad does. Ledee can play either big position but ideally he is next to a better defender (he’s nit a bad defender but isn’t a anchor either). Our best big man combo this year has been ledee/arop. So it does not necessarily have to be some big time shot blocker/5 type. I think heide likely redshirts or sees very little time as a freshman. I have no doubt they will add at least 1 big in the portal

OLE Miss is looking to sign Coach Beard - so will guess he makes sure he contacts their players 1.Texas coach Chris Beard, fired after domestic assault charges - to Ole Miss
2. Texas Tech coach Mark Adams, suspended recently for racially insensitive comments made toward one of his players, resigned shortly after the Red Raiders were eliminated from the Big 12 Tournament. Players jumping ship. 3. Is TCU's coach Jamie Dixon next? Probably not, they are in March Madness with a 6 seed
"TCU big man Eddie Lampkin plans to enter the transfer portal, a source told On3’s Joe Tipton. He just wrapped up his third season with the Horned Frogs. Lampkin appeared in 24 games this season, including 19 starts. He averaged 6.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game as a junior after missing time with an injury. He also stepped away from the team March 8 to deal with personal matters, according to FrogsToday. After he announced his decision to step away, Lampkin posted screenshots that alleged mistreatment by TCU coach Jamie Dixon. In the apparent conversation between Dixon and Lampkin’s mother, Vanessa — which Dixon appears to have initiated — she alleged “racial remarks” were directed to her son. She did not say what those remarks were."

UMN (Minnesota) freshman Jaden Henley to enter NCAA Transfer Portal. The 6'7" swingman is from Ontario was rated as the 195th-best recruit in the high school class of 2022 and chose Minnesota over a top offer from San Diego State.
In his 1st season with UMN, Henley averaged 5.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and shot 37.8% from 3-point range in 20.8 minutes per game.
He played AAU with Dennis Evans who decommitted from UMN recently. UMN finished in last place in the Big 10, at 2-17 in conference.

would be interesting to hear what J. Ledee thinks about the player and the TCU coach
In addition spoke to a very good friend in MN - said one of the reasons Evans decided Not to go to MN was because he knew his AAU friend Henley the 6'7" guard was going to enter the Portal so they could be looking for a package deal - A guard and a center

Over 160 guys added today, bringing the total to 340 and counting. More intersting names coming out from big & small schools.
BTW there are 116 teams are in the post season (68 in the NCAA Tourney, 32 in the NIT and 16 in the CBI.) The transfer list will be up at 2,000 after May. 40% or more won't find a D1 home.
